I remember having this as one of my very first discs back in the late 90s and had to purchase one for the sake of nostalgia.  The best part is that I was able to get it in GStar plastic, which is a big upgrade over the DX plastic that I used back in the day.  I like the increased grip and durability that comes with the GStar.

Back in the day, this was my go to disc for windy days and has quickly regained that status in my current bag.  It took a little time to properly break it in and now it flies very straight when thrown hard with a pretty good fade at the end.  I think the fade is closer to a 4 than the 3 that was reported by Innova.  Throw it into a headwind and it will always come back left (RHBH) with a predictable fade.  This disc has a specific task as one of my windy day drivers and it is very good in that role.  It is not a do it all type of driver and there are better options if that is what you are looking for.  That being said, the GStar Pegasus has found a secure place in my bag.

I had an old 150 DX Pegasus that when new was very predictable into the wind even at 150. Has some glide, but definitely will fight left hard. Wouldn't call it firebird or viper overstable, but it got a nice straight flight that would fade long and hard left. Same results forehand if not absolutely ripped!

Once the DX broke in, it was essentially just straight with a fade, maybe a touch of turn. About what you'd expect from DX. Fun old disc if you manage to find one! Slightly slower firebird to me.

The Pegasus is an older mold disc they use to run DX plastic. It had a nice Overstable, but workable flight. The old ones used to beat into really straight laser beams. I was excited to try out the new ones, but for some reason it didn't feel the same. I really was not a fan of the flexibility of the G star plastic with this disc. The flight was similar, but when I really cranked on it, I did get some turn. I really wish they would run this in the DX plastic, those older molds just seem to fly better in it.

My brother got me an old pegasus that was in dx. Right when I saw it, I knew it was a classic and it flew like an arrow. I took it out of the bag mostly because it was dx and I didn't want to further hurt it. I saw that it made a comback so I had to buy it. It feels amazing for forehand and backhand and will always fight the wind just right. Its a little bit domey and I love my pegasus!

173 Original (now called DX) plastic. I bought my Pegasus from a local pro/dealer who got it from Innova when it was released in April 1997. Less than a week later I hit my first ace with it, so I may have been the first person to ace with this mold.

The high speed stability listed for this disc is incorrect. It is +1, not -1. Always has been. Very, very overstable disc, very low glide. This was supposed to be Innovas answer to the X-Clone, but for whatever reason, it was never very popular.

Most of todays disc golfers have no idea how overstable Innovas lineup was in the '90s. They had the Piranha putter, Griffin mid, and Pegasus, Whippet, Viper, and Ram drivers all with +1 high speed stability.

There are better overstable fairway drivers available now, but the Pegasus retains a special place for me.

    A Classic Returns!

I was one of the few people who truly missed the Pegasus when it went OOP back in the late 90s. At the time, the Viper was the Overstable disc of choice, but the Banshee and Firebird were up and comers. The Pegasus was popular for a few years, and was even a Ken Climo signature disc for a time.

This latest run of throwback Pegasus (Pegasi?) Has been run in Innova s hot new blend, G Star. Luckily for us Pegasus lovers, the G Star Pegasus is exactly the same as the old classic! The rim is a very typical mid 90s rim...it has an unusual slant like the Viper, Cheetah and old runs of gazelles. It may feel odd if you've only thrown modern discs. It also makes it extremely uncomfortable for forehand shots, which is a shame because the Pegasus is a great sidearm disc.

Thrown flat, the Pegasus flies almost the same as a Banshee. It will come out flat, even with a bit of torque, and fade hard once the spin slows down. Somewhat unique for an overstable driver, the Pegasus has great glide. Much Moreso than the Banshee,  which was it's replacement in the Innova lineup. It makes it a bit difficult to range, compared to other overstable fairway drivers. Pegasus fights out of most anhyzer angles, but is great for tight flex shots. It takes quite a bit of effort  to pull off long, glidey hyzer lines but excels at hyzer spikes.

While the Pegasus is certainly not the most do - it - all disc, it is a great disc for headwind drives and hyzer spikes, especially in the G Star plastic, where it will hit and stick.

If you want to try a throwback from the era of frosted tips and puka shell necklaces (which I sported when the Pegasus was in my bag) this is a great disc to try. Couple it with the G Star blend and you have a fantastic disc!
