    175g and 176g Nexus Firefly

    Cash money.

During my putter buying phase, I tried it all. Beaded, beadless, popular, unpopular, glidey, not-glidey, understable, stable. I eventually took a serious liking to the P2. Felt a bit like my original putter, the DX Aviar. I think I like the deep putters. Anyway, I soon learned that many molds are the same/similar to the P2, so I ended up buying Alpacas, Warlocks, and something else that I'm forgetting. They are all gravy. But then the Nexus Firefly caught my attention. As a P2ish mold, I had to get it and I had to get the Nexus plastic that I had heard such good things about. I bought two sight unseen, disc unfelt. One for putting, one for throwing. I haven't looked back. This is the perfect putter. Grippy yet firm, grabs chains, durable, clean releases every time, throws great off the tee. Emulates my DX Aviar turnover shots perfectly when needed with a slight fade at the end. Holds up well in the wind even (and there's a TON of that in the high desert). Went into my recent tournament in extreme 30-40+ mph gusts thinking I'd have to putt with my Pigs or something. Nah, I stuck with what I was comfy with, the Firefly. Held up great. Won my division (MA2).

There aren't enough good things to say about this Nexus Firefly (or Alpacas, P2s, and Warlocks). These are a spin putter's dream. I'm a tall drink of water with above average sized hands, so take that into consideration when buying. Not everyone likes the deep putters. But man, if you spin putt and like deep putters, give these a shot. I think you'll be pleased. And they glow! Haven't tried that out yet, but hey, that's another great feature.

    Sexton knows what's good.

I loved my Infinite Myth (and still highly recommend that disc), but I was looking for a putter that felt a little less beefy in the hand and finished with less fade.  The Nexus Firefly ended up being that disc.  Reminiscent of the Discmania P2s, the Nexus Firefly will give the player a good mix of a consistent and clean release while finishing with only a touch of fade.  Also recommended in the Galactic DX plastic, as it is a bit more wind resistant (though less grippy) than the Nexus material.

The Nexus plastic is a total game changer!  It feels tacky in cold/wet conditions without feeling gummy when it is warm.  I honestly can't tell the difference between the P2. Alpaca, and Firefly as far as feel.  The flight is straight enough to be a point and shoot putter within circle 1, but has enough stability to hold a flight into a light wind.  It has enough glide to serve all of your go-to putting needs.  The Firefly will be my go-to putter for a very long time!

These Firefly's are rather deep putters, so if you have a smaller hand, it may be harder to find a good grip. Overall, a great disc with good glide, stability, and feel. The only major downfall I found with this putter was that it was pretty hard. I had a good amount of spitouts simply because they were stiff enough to where it would bounce right out. Now, off of the tee, they were fantastic. They flip to flat but do not turn over at all, and they like to have a nice soft fade at the end. If you are looking for something straight off of the teepad, try these out. If you like stiff putters to putt with, try these out.

Absolute money! I've been putting with the KC Pro Whale and I like them. Then I got a Nexus Firefly, and I absolutely love it! I would definitely say I prefer the beadless putter. The disc is very grippy and sticks to chains well. I'd definitely recommend everyone trying the Firefly out!

This is by far the best putter I have ever used. All the best traits of an old school P2 from the wind resistance to the versatility and reliability with all putting styles (especially straddle) but the best part, is the plastic.

The Nexus blend (both classic and glow) feels grippy without being chalky or gummy. It is incredibly durable, and maintains a consistent flight no matter the weather conditions. Hot, cold, windy, rainy, the Firefly will fly true.

I bag two of them, one at max weight for anything within circle 1 and a 170g for tricky approach shots or elevated targets. If you can get your hands on a Firefly, you won't ever go back!

Oh my goodness...that plastic...that NEXUS PLASTIC. I think someone told me Jeremy Koling called it a P2 with amazing grip. He (or whoever said it) was right! The P2 is great...this is better. The tackiness is amazing, the stability after wear is still maintained. All weather conditions don't mean a thing to the Firefly. Plus, you get to support Nate Sexton any time these ever release. Who wouldn't love to help that man out! Go buy some fireflies and join all the hype.

The Firefly replaced the P2 as my main putter for a few reasons. 1 - The Nexus plastic is perfect. It's very durable, so it beats in slowly. Personally, it's the best grippy plastic without being too tacky and sticky. I still use a birdie bag on humid days. 2 - Compared to your average P2, the Firefly has a more shallow feel in the hand. Not sure if it's the shoulder or its ever so slightly concave top, but it just feels better to me. 3 - While they are still overstable for a putter, they seem a tad straighter than a P2 when both are new. I'm sure D-line P2s break in faster due to the plastic, but the Firefly is just a hair straighter.

It is VERY similar to a P2, but don't let anyone tell you this is a P2. I have only thrown them in a field, but they also have less fade than a P2. If Innova would just release some more I might actually throw one, but the few I have are my prized putters, so they're staying away from trees and rocks for now.

This is my new go-to putter. Other reviews are dead on with comparing it to a P2. The only difference is the plastic. I can't really feel a depth difference like other people. The plastic is somewhere between the stiff P-line and the X-line for me. I'm only using it for my putting, and not throwing it yet. I'm going to buy a few more so that I can wear them in together.

The Firefly is virtually identical with a Discmania P2 mold-wise, but what makes the Firefly different from the P2 is the plastic type. The grip is excellent, but it is also much more firm than other grippy plastics. I personally am loving the Firefly and am using it as my go to putter. It sticks to the chains really well, and sits gently when hitting the ground. It seems like it will be great for cold, wet weather, and it has enough firmness to not feel like a whoopy cushion in the heat...

The Firefly is like a P2, but is a tad more shallow, both to the eye and in the feel of the hand.  It is beadless, and feels good in the hand.  The Nexus plastic is like the very good XT plastic found in the Bullfrog (and better than XT plastic, IMHO), and also reminds me of Infinite's I-blend and the P-line/Pro plastic in my P2s.  The plastic is more firm than Yeti Pro, but not as firm as KC Pro, Classic/BT Hard, or Gateway's Soft and (firmer) Supersoft blends.

Where the Firefly differs from the P2 is stability.  My Firefly was less stable than the P2.  The Firefly is a very straight putter, and may even go a little right (RHBH throw) if you're used to throwing a more overstable putter like the P2.  The Firefly is a good choice for spin putters.

On throws, I found the Firefly to be a very straight flyer.  On less than full power shots for accuracy, the straight flight is followed by a bit of fade.  On longer shots with some "oomph" behind them, the Firefly is straight and may drift right (RHBH throw) just a bit before finishing straight and flat.

All in all the Firefly is a good disc in a good, grippy plastic, and may be an improvement over Aviars as well as a good choice for spin putters.

The Firefly is a great feeling putter. The rim has no bead and feels similar to a P2 or Aviar P&A. Since Nate used to putt with P2's I'd say there's a good chance the Firefly is closer to the P2 Mold. The Nexus plastic is feels like Pro plastic with some added stiffness.
