I love the Dark Rebel aka the old Discmania FD. I recently threw the star plastic version. Definitely more turn and less fade then the champion version. I can get more distance with the star, as well as can manipulate more shots with it. If I want a straight flight with a dependable fade accurate finish, I go champion. If I want more turn, hyzer flip, pure distance, I go star. Currently bag both.

One of my favorite discs. Feel wise, these have a mild dome and convex rim that is very comfortable. I've thrown the Fairway disc in both star and champion, both of them flew roughly the same. The flight numbers are accurate, it has a little turn, and a little fade. Glide is also accurate, it likes to stay in the air.

This disc deserves consideration for being in your bag.  I especially like it on tight fairways and playing long wooded lines.  The Dark Rebel goes very straight when thrown with moderate power, or you can lean into it and get a great turnover line.  I especially like throwing it on a hyzer flip for a long straight flight with minimal fade.

I had an old FD Jackal that was my favorite fairway driver in the woods until it drifted a little too far into the woods and never came back.  It was so difficult to find a replacement for that gem until now!  I'm so glad Innova kept this mold and kept the Dark Rebel in production!

I missed the Original FD but can absolutely see why it is so popular. I bag a lot of 7 speeds as I max out distance wise right now at about 300' (approx. 18 months playing as of this review). This disc is just so easy to throw. Laser straight for me and just an amazing disc all around. I have this in star plastic and it is a staple in the bag. Depending on weather I want the extra glide or not this and the Hawkeye are now staples in my bag I Consistently reach for if I have a point and shoot shot lined up. Consistent, easy to throw and accurate are too good to pass up. Would definitely recommend trying it.

You want a point and shoot disc? Look no further! The Dark Rebel is out of the shadows and into the fairway!

I am still relatively new to disc golf and the FD was out of production when I started.  I am so sad it took me almost 2 years to experience this mold.  Holy cow, it is a game changer for me.  Flies so amazingly both forehand and backhand.  So straight with just enough stability to keep it from turning over too easily.  And it goes - for a 7 speed driver it can achieve great distance.  I drive on the course only 280-310' forehand and backhand, and I can get the Dark Rebel close to 300.  The halo star Haily King Hawkeye is also money.  Just a touch more stable for me.  Thank you Innova for making the FD available again!

FWIW, I've also tried the new C-line FD.  It's also great but a bit more prominent dome, making a little less comfortable for forehands.  I found it to be similarly stable to the Hawkeye.

I am loving this disc in Champion Plastic! I bought another Dark Rebel in Star plastic to hang on the wall because the art work on the Star plastic is just so epic. This disc will fly just like the old Discmania FD. Umm, that's because it is! Innova always had rights to this mold; as they should! Thanks Innova!
