This is the true Harp/Zone replacement. It's like a Firebird for anything under 250ft. It is board flat, shallow, and very stiff. It will skip very well. It has no high speed turn or pop up and will always fade pretty hard. Perfect for a shot shaping utility disc.

The beefiest midrange in existence. I did a review of a Luster Champ Gator, claiming the very same thing. However, upon receiving this disc, it's clear that THIS is clearly innova's most OS mid. The glide is just enough to get it moving before dumping out of the sky. Newer players will get rather annoyed by this disc, but those with experience will definitely find this disc as a solid utility midrange.

Purchased this disc in Star plastic. The only mold available at the time. This is an exceptionally OS midrange. It feels like a smaller rimmed, beadless Viper but more overstable. I've been looking for a replacement for disc slot filled by the Whippet (oop) and the rare flat top super OS Gator. This disc is great for touch and full power forehands as well as hyzer approaches and medium drives.

I love this disc! Think midrange Firebird. So great for those longer forehand shots that would be too much for my Pig, but still sticks to the ground like a good midrange should. Throw this in any wind condition and it will always fade back, even with a good amount of anhyzer. If you like the Gator or Caiman, you'll like this more.

Spent a whole windy, cold day comparing the Star Croc to a Lucid Justice, C-Line MD5 and a Withers Champion Gator. The temp was in the low 40s and the wind at 15mph with gusts up to 20mph.

First and foremost, what everyone wants to know is the Croc is not as over-stable as a Justice.

The Croc is definitely over-stable, but flies almost identical to a stiff Withers Gator or an MD5 with a little less glide. The Croc is unable to handle a lot of forehand torque, barely fading out at the end of the flight... but it DOES fight out late. I was able to get more distance out of the Croc than the Justice.

I walked away at the end of the day feeling like the Croc compares more to a stiff Z-line Zone than to other OS midranges. The Croc has a smaller diameter and feel great in the hand, both for backhand and forehand.

If you're expecting a Justice over-stable experience, you will be disappointed, but I belive the Croc will still be a favorite among many players who find the Gator strange in the hand.

This is definitely Innova's attempt at making a Trilogy brand "Justice" type disc, and I'm going to say that they have made a better version! It has a touch more glide but still has the Overstability flight pattern, except that when it does land it doesn't necessarily have that drastic flair skip it just lands and does a bounce and stops!
Also not to mention it's great in the Midwest winds and those touch flex forehand up shots where you need to flex around an obstacle and get right ASAP.

The Croc is one of the beefiest discs I have ever thrown. I still use my Discraft Zones for most approach shots, but I throw the Croc when I need it to go right(RHFH) and it doesn't disappoint. The only thing this disc knows how to do is fade, and it does it well. I've started throwing it more than I originally thought due to the consistency and predictability of the flight. I had a Gator, but prefer the Croc more as it feels more comfortable in the hand.

The Croc is one beefy midrange. It flies like discs that have a positive turn rating, like a Whippet or Flick. For me, it flies straight for a short distance, then flips on the left turn blinker and starts fading to the ground. I know it's nice to have an overstable utility disc, but for my arm I can throw something like a Scepter or Firebird and know that I can get a little distance before the fade. I'm getting 300 feet with a driver, and this disc is too overstable for me.

This is what the Caiman was supposed to be. Very comfortable in the hand, low-profile, and will ALWAYS fade hard. Very reliable, great for forehand and backhand.

Innova finally did it! The Croc is a super overstable midrange, the kind of approach disc where it is physically impossible for me to turn it over and have it hold an anhyzer line. This disc will always come back and fade hard. The Gator, Caiman, Mortar are all overstable midranges, but for short range low power forehand flex shots, they mostly hold the line.

My disc golf game changed forever at the 2015 GBO when the player packs included the Dynamic Discs Justice. This midrange was so overstable that it was almost fool proof and incredibly accurate for short distances. It became the most important disc in my bag and I absolutely loved it for forehand approach shots and spike hyzer throws where you just want to park under the basket.

Other brands soon followed with utility midrange discs like this including the Westside Anvil, Legacy Recluse, Streamline Runway, MVP Deflector, and Viking Loki, but Innova still didn't have anything more OS than the Gator. When the Caiman came out, I was very disappointed. It wasn't nearly as overstable as I needed for my inconsistent releases.

After my test round just now I can conclude that the Croc is the real Beef. There is now a super OS mid in the Innova line. I compared it directly with my trusty Justice, and while not quite as massively OS as the Justice, it is fully adequate. The Croc has a comfortable feel and works great. With a smooth backhand throw I can get about 240 feet of distance with it. Thrown forehand on a flex line I can push it out to about 270, but that's about it, this disc is not meant to provide distance, the purpose of the Croc is to spike into the ground right before the basket.
