The Swirly S-Blend Sultan adds a touch of visual flair while keeping the solid grip and slightly overstable flight characteristics of standard S-Blend. Many players report that the extra stiffness of Swirly S-Blend gives this Infinite Discs Sultan just a touch more fade and a smoother release.

My Flight Ratings: 12/4/-1.5/2 Somewhat Beginner Friendly Throwing Distance: 350 Straight Score: Slightly Overstable

When I learned the projected numbers, I was immediately intrigued. In my mind, there's nothing more fun than a bomber S-flight distance driver.

Handfeel: First of all, the nosebeed is going to be a dealbreaker for some folks. It doesn't really bother me, but it is definitely a different feel. I immediately assumed it would not be good for forehands based on the feel.

Flight: I found the flight to be very close to the published numbers. I understand that some folks have experienced a less stable flight; however, mine was slightly more stable than expected. Once beat in, it should be dead on. I did find that the release angle is very important to the flight and can dramatically impact the result.

Backhand: Thrown flat, the Sultan gets a nice turn with a reliable fade and it handled a decent amount of torque without burning over. Thrown on a slight hyzer, it flips up to flat, and pushes straight before fading. Thrown anhyzer, it holds the turn for most of the flight and then fights out at the end to land flat.

Forehand: I was surprised by how much I liked throwing the Sultan on forehand. I assumed the nosebeed would make it awkward to throw; however, it came out very smooth and also flew close to numbers. I believe this disc might even have more utility as a forehand disc.

Intended Use and Skill Level: A beginner will get some use out of the Sultan, though mostly as an overstable driver. It truly needs to be thrown like a 12-speed to effect the intended flight. It's really more appropriate for an intermediate player. It would likely be a turnover or roller disc for someone who throws beyond 450 feet.

Overall: I'm impressed, though the jury is out on whether it's going in the bag. I'd like to beat it in some more and perhaps grab a stock run (when available) to compare.
