The base-grade plastic is the only real knock against this disc as it gets beat in (or beat up) pretty easily. As a midgrade disc, it works well and flies as the numbers would indicate. While it doesn't glide as much as many other mids I have, it does have a good, straight flight -- and actually makes a pretty good putter when you're on the border between comfortable and uncomfortable distances: I banged four such putts in back to back (to back to back) holes on a recent round as the mid's flight and glide gave just a bit more straight-forward, controlled distance on putts that would all too often have faded on me or dropped too low just before it would have gone in. Beginners should have no problems using this effectively.
