The Shooting star is a fairway driver with a manageable speed rating. The unique low-profile design cuts through the wind with a steady, gentle flip. This is a great disc for beginners and throwers with low-to-medium power. It can be used by power throwers for long rollers as well. The Shooting Star is a slightly understable driver.

Again, this one doesn't quite match the flight numbers in my opinion. To me it was flying like a -3, 0. It literally flipped over and never came back, even when I was throwing around half power. So it wasn't exactly the perfect disc for me, but it would be the perfect disc for somebody starting out. I might get one for my wife to throw. I'd highly recommend this to anyone who likes flippy drivers, or who has lower arm speed. It glides forever, so it'll get you some extra distance.

The plastic is sort of "pro" feeling. Not super durable, but not DX. It's great enough for beginners to learn what they like!

The Galaxy Discs Shooting Star is an excellent beginner driver. This disc has a good feel, and a perfect speed and flight for newer disc golfers. When I release the Shooting Star at a slight hyzer angle it flips up and flys mostly straight with a slight right turn followed by a moderate end of fade flight. I'm a big fan of this disc for straight line shots up to about 300 feet.

For more experienced players, and disc golfers that tend to release discs with more umpf than I do, the Shooting Star is not for you. This is a finesse disc that will turnover easily if thrown with too much power.

The E-Class plastic feels good, but is a base level plastic that will beat in easily, which will likely make the Shooting Star even more understable over time. While I love the flight of this disc new out of the box, if you plan to play on rough terrain or in heavily wooded course, I'd recommend a different driver that's available in a more durable plastic blend.

The Shooting Star was the Galaxy Disc that I personally used the least in my tester rounds. It is a great disc for what it is designed, and that is for beginners, or for people who like to throw lightly, with a soft touch. It didn't take much for me to turn it over since I don't use a hyzer-flip throwing style very often. I really had to dial back the power to get this to fly straight. But since it is a speed 7 and understable, I suppose it wasn't designed for my playing style. I would not hesitate to give this to a new player, a child or somebody who struggles with early fade. The grippy plastic will feel nice to a new player and they should be able to get this disc a couple hundred feet without too much trouble.
