The Elevation Disc Golf Groundhog is an overstable approach disc designed with a unique anti-gyro construction to reduce glide and bring the disc to the ground faster. Instead of concentrating weight around the rim, the Groundhog places additional material in the center of the flight plate, reducing gyroscopic stability and causing the disc to lose forward carry earlier in flight. This creates a controlled, dropping finish that helps limit unwanted skips or long ground play.

The Groundhog also features a lower-profile design compared to similar low-glide approach discs, giving it a more comfortable feel in the hand for both forehand and backhand throws. Made with Elevation’s flexible hit-and-stick material, it is designed to absorb impact and stay near the landing zone, making aggressive approach runs and controlled placement shots easier to manage.

ecoFLEX Details

Elevation Disc Golf's ecoFLEX plastic is a vulcanized rubber blend, making it different from Elevation's previous silicone blends. ecoFLEX is made of 30% post-consumer medical scrap, such as rubber gloves. This makes it about one-third recycled material! The vulcanized nature of this rubber blend vastly improves the durability of the discs. ecoFLEX is very puncture resistant and should hold up very well over time.

The grip is fantastic on ecoFLEX (think pink eraser), and the blend doesn't pick up dust and dirt as easily as Elevation's silicone plastics do. ecoFLEX is the stiffest plastic that Elevation Disc Golf makes. It still has the ability to bend upon impact, making it possible to stick the landing, but it feels stiffer in the hand.

Eco flex groundhog 170g

This is meant to be a Berg replacement at least that's how it's marketed when it was dropped , So this review will be written as a comparison to the berg

I just picked this up yesterday at a tournament and I was throwing it in the yard this afternoon comparing it to my Burg. For reference, I have a K1 grind Berg, which I am absolutely in love with

After throwing it in the yard for about an hour beside my burger, I would say it is most definitely more over stable than my burger, but still pretty straight with a solid finish probably compares a little closer to the Burg X as far as flight path

I haven't had a chance to play with it in around yet, but I would say there's a very good chance. It will actually replace my beloved Berg....

It Has the same slow, no glide flight that you would want from this type of disc.

As far as cons, it's a little bit more over stable so if you consider that a con that would be a downside. Also, it's a little bit more flexible so if you like really stiff discs, that would be another con

The pros at least from my point of view is the rubber feels amazing and has a lot of grip. I used to throw a lot of Vibram back in the day and always loved the rubber Feel. Also, it's a lot thinner in diameter so that works a lot better for me on forehand and just feels more comfortable in my hand and not so much like a big dish

All in all, I would say, I will definitely be giving this affair chance and I feel like I will likely be replacing my bird with the groundhog

Great upshot discs! Will hold initial line and stop 3/4 through flight and sit! Game changer for my upshot's where the outter would just want to glide too far
