The Chromium straddles the line between a fairway driver and distance driver and is designed for very steady flight. It feels great in the hand and will work well for both beginners and experienced players.

Ok so I am going to completely disagree with the previous reviews of this disc. The one I have flies fairly true to the numbers perhaps slightly more understable. To me, it was fairly similar to a Gateway Assasin (from what I remember) or the Ti Heat I have (which is the least understable Heat I have thrown). It has a little more dome then I'd like but it is comfortable in my hands and the plastic is quite nice.

The Chromium is as others have said, on the more overstable side.  I was hoping for a neutral disc, but the Chromium still has it's utility for shots you need to fade around 200'.  I'm still waiting to throw it into a head wind to see if it can reliably go straight without turning over too much.  Definitely worth a look as they continue to expand on their molds.

The Chromium disc is pretty overstable.  In the description it is describe as in between fairway and distance disc.  When I threw (RHBH) it flat, it sail straight for about 200 then started its fade hard left.  Tried throwing on an anny still turn over quickly.  Almost the same distance as when I threw it flat.

I am sure it will find a home in someone bag.  But not mine.

The Yellow 174g Chromium I tried is an was almost a worthless disc to me. This disc is nothing like its flight ratings and is an overstable the second it leaves your hand. This Chromium is super domey, which usually makes me release on a hyzer angle when I don't even try to, and I was able to get no flip up turn, and very little distance out of it. I had what I thought was a really good pull with it on a 310 foot hole, but  still ended up about 20 feet short and way off to the left as it faded out so hard.

While the Element Chromium was too overstable for a backhand thrower for me, I did have some luck with forehand throws. The Chromium would turn on a flick for me with a nice S-Curve, but the huge dome makes this disc release too inconsistently for me. Someone with more touch and skill might like it for forehand throws, but I don't have that kind of skill. The disc is pretty and I like the bright yellow/green, but I have no desire to ever throw this disc again.

I took the Chromium driver out for a few throws on the local course. Given the number ratings printed on the disc, I expected something a bit more beginner friendly, like a Valkyrie. However, it has quite a dome-top on the disc and consequently hooks pretty hard on the overstable side when it reaches the end of flight. I would give the flight ratings much more of an overstable result, like a -1 / 2 or -1 / 3.  I also got pretty consistent skips with this disc. It would fly fairly straight with velocity, but on that final fade, it almost always got a big hop off the ground, flying on the new angle for another ten to twenty feet after the bounce. This was on a groomed course, so the skip would most likely be negated in thicker ground cover.

Once I got accustomed to the flight of the disc, I enjoyed throwing it and felt like I could predict where it would land, and if I needed a good skip, I could depend on it rather consistently.  As a speed 9 disc, you aren't going to be able to power this thing into a drive over 300 feet very easily. At least I couldn't. But that is what I'd expect from a fairway driver or slower distance driver.  All in all, I could see the Chromium being a useful utility driver, though not necessarily as beginner-friendly as I expected. I primarily throw backhand, so I did not test the disc with forehand throws, though I suspect it would be more user friendly with that throwing style.
