Woo hoo! I tree in the middle of the fairway? No way to throw to the right of the tree? Not a forehand aficionado? THIS DISC IS FOR YOU!

I haven't had new players try this yet but should be fine. feels nice in the hand, smaller rim and rounder. I can do a nice RHBH slower smooth throw and its got a nice turn to fade back. On short grass it doesn't skip much for me but it slides really nice.

The Patrol is an excellent disc for beginners due to its immense amount of glide and understability. It is also really good for more experienced players working on their form. This disc will expose any flaws in your form because only the smoothest throw will end in a good result when thrown with any amount of speed. It is pretty much useless in even the slightest of headwinds. I really enjoy throwing this disc. It is very comfortable in the hand and releases cleanly. I use it for smooth turnovers that just glide to the right and will fade back if thrown soft enough. The Patrol can go pretty far if you let the disc do the work. I would highly recommend this disc for turnover shots and straight wooded shots.

I picked up a Patrol after trying several low speed high turn discs for trouble shots and tee shots requiring quick turn, thrown flat.  I found the Patrol to be very consistent in that regard.  I can release it flat and get 20-30 degrees turn consistently and good distance allowing me to tee off on shorter holes with it.

Is is a great hyzer flip disc and go really far on a flip.  Just don't throw it into a headwind or it will make a U-Turn.

I would imagine it would be a great beginner disc and is likely to fly very straight for anyone developing disc speed.

It is very comfortable to hold and throw.

I have a 174g Lucid Patrol and it is a very understable midrange. I love the feel of the rim and I am a big fan of the Lucid plastic. I was looking for a complete turnover disc, something I could throw flat to hyzer and it would turnover to the right (RHBH). This disc definitely does that but I have to put hyzer on it otherwise it turns into a roller. It is really great for lower power shots where you need a little flex line but it does get touchy for higher power shots because it turns so much. It might stay in my bag as more of a utility disc but I think this isn't exactly what I was wanting for this slot in my bag. I'll be testing out a Comet in hopes that will do the trick. However, this should be an easy disc to throw for beginners.

This disc has a permanent slot in my bag.  This thing is awesome!  It's super flippy!  It will show you exactly what's wrong with your form.  Keep in mind it's a speed 5 disc so it's easy to overpower.   I throw it on a steep hyzer and it will flip up and glide for days.   Slight hyzer and it sails right.   Power throw on a hyzer and it'll flip to a roller.   If you can't control this disc then you should probably work on your throw a lot more.

    SOLD!
This disc is perfect. In my bag its the most under-stable mid. I absolutely love it for consistent turn overs from hyzer. Late turning broad shots from a steep hyzer on full blast. Wide turning shot from flat and soft. Soft hyzer-flips.  Moderate steep hyzer-flips. Next to the Innova panther as a more stable mid for flip ups and the Mako3 for line holding; it really completes the set up for under-stable mid position in bag. This disc will definitely weed out bad form in players. Reviewers that don't like under-stable mids are usually just terrible at the game. Pros use under-stable beat in versions of their discs for these shots. I like the feel and release of this disc. Good Job DD. This was my first DD purchase and I love it. More to come. Numbers are spot on.

I was looking for an understable disc for backhand turnover/anhyzer shots with some glide to the disc, as several holes on my home course call for that shot.  The Patrol fits the bill very well.  It also does very well on hyzerflip shots and very straight shots in the woods when powered down some.  Some complain that it's 'touchy";  I just say that it'll show you if your form is bad and needs work.

The Patrol is an understable midrange from Dynamic Discs that was part of the Trilogy Challenge. The Patrol is comfortable in hand and really comes out cleanly. The Lucid plastic feels great and is very durable. The flight of this disc was extremely understable and inconsistent. I really had a hard time getting this disc to do what I wanted. It is one of the most understable midranges I have ever thrown. This would probably make a great disc for brand new players trying the game out for the first time, but beyond that I really don't see a ton of use.

I wanted to like this disc from the moment I saw it at the Trilogy Challenge. I needed an US mid in my bag and I wanted the Patrol to take that spot. And, while it did indeed take that spot, I just can't find any sort of consistency with this disc. I'll try to flip it up into a nice soft anhyzer flight, but it'll flip up, then fly straight and fade out when I don't need it to, or I'll release it flat looking for a great turnover line, and It'll crash into the ground from so much turn. I just can't get the angles right with this disc. It's definitely very US, and works for a lot of people, maybe even you if you were to buy one, I just can't figure it out.

The patrol is the definition of FLIPPY. I can give 25%-35% power on a hyzer release and it still pops to flat and turns over slightly. I think it's best used as a roller disc that turns over and finishes sharp to the right when thrown RHBH, for midrange shots that you want to turn hard and never fade out, and for situations where you can't generate enough power to throw your go-to midrange. This thing glides for miles, so even when very little power is given it can reach 250 feet easily. Beware though, this disc takes a lot of practice to control because of how understable and touchy it is.

This disc is great for midrange shots! I didn't like the way it came out of my hand when I got it at the trilogy challenge, so I avoided throwing it for a while. I came back to it and realized it's a really reliable midrange disc! You can use it to gain a little more distance while still getting the turn and fade you want out of it. Higher speed players will be able to throw the distance they need and lower speed players will be able to throw it with ease on a slight snake pattern. It will be reliable everytime!

I'm lower power, but have throw on an extreme hyzer angle and flip it to flat for great distance on a straight line.  Thrown flat it will be a backhand replacement for a forehand shot.  I would recommend for higher power players as well as it's a good get out of trouble disc for tossing out an anny.  Definitely will show your power level and ability to control power and angles with this disc.  I don;t think I would have liked this disc when my form wasn't as good to control angles as much.  Definitely a disc I can see in a lot of player's bags.

I was pretty surprised by the Patrol. I picked it up in the Trilogy Challenge but avoided throwing it at first. Big turn/anhyzer shots aren't something I'm comfortable with so I rarely threw this disc. As I've spent more time with it, I'm glad to have this disc! There's been a number of times where I approached a hole that I'd usually throw a forehand but decide to switch it up and throw a backhand and this disc has outperformed anything I had anticipated. It's easy to make this thing turn. Throw it lightly and it will likely go straight before hyzering out. Throw it normally and it turns beautifully. Throw it hard and you better have a lot of hyzer on it or it'll turn into a roller in no time. This is also a decent quick-flip thumber disc as well if you're looking to get out of trouble but don't need a ton of distance.

Overall, this disc was a very pleasant surprise. If you're looking to learn how to throw anhyzers or rollers or soft hyzer-flips, this disc is a great way to learn them. As you develop your shot more, you'll be able to do some beautiful shots with this disc.

Lots of glide, 1st time I threw it I gave it maybe 30% power and it shot several yards behind the basket. After a few games I've learned to play the glide and give a lot less power.

I didn't play in the Trilogy Challenge, but I traded for this disc after throwing a friend's. I wasn't looking for a new understable midrange as I have used the Latitude 64 Fuse in that slot for a long time, but this disc made me have think about it, and ultimately, it kicked the Fuse out for me. This disc is SO comfortable in the hand. It feels like a fairway driver, and while it certainly isn't a flat disc, it's not nearly as deep as most midranges, especially ones this understable. I can't wait for this disc to come out in more plastics, especially moonshine plastic just for the extra tick of stability. The disc has a ton of turn, but it has the slightest bit of fade to not cut roll as long as the disc isn't forced over. Advanced players will have to finesse the disc to get good use out of it, but I think it would be a great tee disc for beginners with its combination of understability, low speed, and driver feel.

Awesome disc! I do not have a flick at all so this disc is a must for me. I can throw it about 70% from a stand still and it will go straight and then turn right and gently power down and land just as a flick would do. This thing has a ton of glide to it also and will just float in the air and keep going! I can throw this thing full power and with a good amount of hyzer and it will flip up and go straight for a good ways and then start to turn to the right still and keep going till it powers down nicely and just lands flat. I use it for shots that require a turnover or flick and when I have a tight tunnel I can power it down nicely and it will go dead straight. I would say its more of a 5/6/-3/0. Got it at a trilogy challenge and it and the maiden were the two discs I used the most.  It does go further than other mids, I would put it up with the distance of an eMac Truth. I have one of those in my bag as well and these are always close to the same distance with each other. Super good disc for beginners and anyone who can not flick a disc!

Flippy? Can confirm. I have an intermediate arm and without a ton of effort I can backhand at a 45 degree hyzer for a sweet straight throw. It flips up and glides for a cool 250'-300'. You have to be precise though, less hyzer and you are drifting right. This isn't a bad thing though.

My local course a has 285' fade right hole tunnel. I don't have that far of a forehand and this disc provided my first birdie chance on this hole. It has become my go to for tunnel shots and a staple to my game.

I absolutely LOVE the Patrol. I release everything on a hyzer angle and so love flippy discs. With my power, on a Hyzer release the DD Patrol will glide straight and finish straight. This is also a great disc for big anhyzer throws and shots that need to finish right if you don't want to use a forehand.

The Dynamic Discs Patrol has a very thin profile for a midrange (which I love) the rim is not very deep and it feels absolutely great to me. The most comparable disc on the market to this is the DGA Tremor. Flightwise the Patrol is comparable to the Westside Tursas. It's like the midrange version of the Westside Hatchet.

A lot of the big power throwers hate this disc. They can't get it to fly consistently because it flips on them too easily, but if you're a newer disc golfer and have a hard time getting discs to stay straight for you, I highly recommend the Dynamic Discs Patrol.

This is the perfect disc for all beginners or players with slow arm speeds. I played two Trilogy challenges and found a great range of domey to flat top patrols. If you have 300' of power then this disc is not for you unless you seriously power down or are looking for a spike anhyzer disc. If you are in the 200' to 250' power range, then this is a great tailwind disc or what I did for the Trilogy challenge is throw it on a huge hyzer and let it flip to a slight anhyzer and slowly come back to flat. This is a great disc for beginners learning the game or more experienced players looking for a super tailwind mid.

My least favorite trilogy challenge mold...

Look I'm a big fan of understable mids. The Comet is my favorite disc ever made and I'm coming around on the M4. However this isnt one I cared for.

This is TOO squirrelly, and a disc like this is infuriating for an event like the trilogy challenge. I find the understable mid slot to be the most practice intensive disc type. You need reps to make this disc do what you want. I found it true for both myself and those at my event the Patrol was unreliable and unpredictable.

If you have below average arm speed or have the time to spend learning it, more power to you.

    Not for me.

Great for anyone under an intermediate level. This is an incredibly understable disc that is great for the slower arm speed. No doubt would be a great utility disc on some shots but would not recommend for higher arm speeds

The Patrol ended up being my favorite disc out of the bunch. It flies almost identically to my Lucid Warrant, but I like the grip of the Patrol more. I found the difference in stability between those two discs to be negligible as well.

The only reason I say that this disc has a fade of one is because I threw it on a hyzer-flip shot out of some woods and when I found where the disc landed, there was nothing around to have impeded it and it looked like it definitely faded a little left at the end.

If you like a disc with a slightly smaller rim and you like the Warrant, I recommend picking one of these up. Beginners will find a very straight midrange in this disc as well and I think it's great for all skill levels.

Quite frankly, this disc is great! I needed an understable midrange to better shape shots, so this perfectly fit my bag. It has great glide. You can easily shape shots to make it flip, make it super straight, or spike hyzer. It is very versatile and is a great beginner to advanced disc. Don't understand the hate tbh...

Probably my favorite disc from the Trilogy Challenge (Maiden was good too, Musket just felt like a slightly faster Vulture.)  The closest comparison would probably be to a Latitude64 Fuse, which is one of my favorite discs.  But, where the Fuse just wants to gently glide right, and finish right with no fade whatsoever, the Patrol turns noticeably right out of your hand, but will fade a bit if you keep it in the air long enough.  Nowhere near as glidey as the Fuse, that's for sure, but it'll still stay up there.

Yeah, if you crank on it, it's gonna roll.  It's not that bad of a roller, either, as the rim is slightly sharp, and shaped like a sort of compromise between a fast midrange and a slow fairway driver, a bit like the Kastaplast Kaxe Z.  But that's not what this disc is made for.  People who were expecting to step up and throw another Pine were sorely disappointed.  This disc was made for powered down, accurate turnover shots that stay right, but have just enough stability to not cut-roll on you.  And it works great for those shots.

The Patrol is competing with my max weight Prodigy M5 for that "super understable but lands flat" slot in my bag, but I'll have to throw it a bit more to see if it's best in that role.  I WILL say, though, that I'm confident putting this in the hands of ANY beginner.  Weaker arms will make it perform a bit like a Roc/Roc3: dead straight with a bite at the end.

If you're throwing this disc with any sort of arm speed, this will dump left immediately and never come back. To get this to not dump any earlier than 150ft I had to release on a vertical hyzer. and even then it dumped pretty fast.

This is a very flippy, glidey disc. The rim is nearly identical to the Discraft Meteor, and the flight is similar but somehow even flippier. It glides far on a turnover when powered down, and easily burns out when powered up. It should make a great beginner's disc in complement to a stable mid.
