This is one of my favorite get out of trouble discs. If I m on the the edge of rough or slightly into the woods 150' to 75' i always reach for this disc. It will hold it's line with a minor fade and USUALLY sit like a mid range. It's great for forehand and backhand. It's very dependable and doesn't change much as it breaks in. It's a great utility disc, i have others like it but can't bring myself to take it out of my bag because it always does what I need it to do.

I like this disc for straight shots with slight finish. It will hold almost any line I put it on whether anhyzer, straight, or hyzer. Always with just the slightest finish at the end. Great for tight shots in the woods.

Disclaimer: this review is for the disc in its newer state... I've thrown it 10 times or so in rounds so I cannot comment on how this flight changes over time. So far, I love this disc. It's so true to the numbers, the key number being the ZERO. You can CRANK on this disc and it stays flat through the flight, even into a headwind, and fades predictably. I used to throw the Explorer in this spot but it had a little too much turn when I gave it a good chuck. In fact I picked up the Evader because my Explorer turned too much over a lake and didn't fade back quite enough. Lol. I need that disc that I can trust to hold its line and fade back. So far, that's the Evader. In my experience. the Opto Explorer is a 7/5/-1/2 and the Lucid Evader is a true 7/4/0/2.5

RHBH here. Absolute workhorse. A very comfortable stable/over stable fairway driver. Not too over stable which makes this disc very workable for different situations. I use mine for every round on any course. I'd give the numbers 7/5/0/2. A more domey tee bird would be a close comparison. Or a touch more stable explorer.

I use this disc on all my controlled forehand throws within 310 ft. Currently throwing it in the Lucid air plastic which is great, but doesn't seem to hold up again any wind. I will be switching back to the Lucid plastic. I can count on it flying straight with a nice finish.

I use this disc quite often. I mainly use it as a forehand control shot because I will release it on an anhyzer and know that it will hold that for a little bit before fading at the end right where I want it to. The rim is perfect for my forehand grip and is very comfortable. Occasionally I will throw it on a backhand and it will fly dead straight for me before fading. Definitely stays in my bag.

Disclaimer - this is primarily a forehand review. I've found Lucid plastic to be inconsistent in the past, and the Evader is no exception. What seemed to be a slow speed overstable fairway driver behaves closest to its numbers when thrown more like an 8 or even 9 speed control driver, and is far too domey for a comfortable forehand grip. I don't dislike it, but there are other discs that do similar things, but with a far more comfortable hand feel.

I bag 3 evaders, so yeah I love this disc. I have a flat lucid evader that flips to flat and turns nicely, a domey evader to flip to flat and glide forever, and fly dead straight with a nice finish, and then I have a lucid-x that won't turn over at all. For reference, I they're my domey evaders about 390 feet.
I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a workable fairway. The only other fairway I have is an F5 for roller/more US flight.

A rare 5/5 stars - should be a staple in your bag

Feeling - lucid plastics is similar to champion and the same a Lat 64 Opto.  Decent grip with the rim being similar to a teebird or explorer but with a slight dome.

Flight - This is where it is surprising as I was expecting a more dumpy Explorer.  I'm not sure what it is but you can get some serious distance with this disc as the fade is strong enough to handle 9+ speed/power.  If you throw this disc at 6/7 speed it will have closer to a 4 glide with the fade. When thrown flat doesn't show turn and will fight out of an anny with a solid Fade.  Can handle FH power. Good forward push on hyzer before hard dumping.

Flight # - glide is off as it can get some good distance but you do have to "over throw" the disc.  It can handle most of your stable needs from 6-10 speeds.

    172 Lucid Evader

Have bagged this for a few rounds and really enjoy it. For reference, I typically throw around 330 with my 11 speed distance drivers, although I can occasionally run them out to around 375. With that in mind, this fairway driver works as a great stable driver. It will always finish left for me (rhbh) but is far from anything resembling a meathook. Depending on how I throw it, I can get it to glide straight before the finish, or even get a little turn before the finish. It is fantastic at holding a slight hyzer. It might pop up a little, but runs a hyzer line great.

Overall, feels great and does exactly what I want it to do. Pretty good dome on mine. I might judge the turn to be 0.5 as opposed to 0. The glide is great - I might estimate closer to five. However, I did not get this to be a long distance FD. I wanted something that I could absolutely trust, would not turn over, and will always finish left. It is perfect for that role.

For all you beginners out there (cough cough), don't be surprised when you out-throw all of your high-speed drivers with the Evader. An easy to control, over-stable disc, what more need be said?

The numbers speak for themselves. A 7 speed, 4 glide, 0 turn, and 2.5 fade makes the Evader an almost perfect overstable fairway driver for beginners and pros. A slight dome, sleek rim, and sharp edge makes your hand happy when releasing this beauty into the air. Great for rounding corners or wide open 300ft hyzers where you need to stick the landing inbounds.

I am a massive fan of the Explorer, so naturally I had to try out an Evader. I found mine to be extremely overstable compared to even my new Explorers. I ended up not keeping it in the bag, but it was extremely comfortable and definitely would be great for someone who has more power and distance than I do.

Long story short- The Evader is great, but doesn't take long to stop being great

    Long story long:

?The Evader is a great mold and filled a few roles for me.
First it was a lower speed disc that could be thrown flat, or even flexed if thrown softly or uphill. After some wear, it became perfect for Hyzer flips.
My problem is that this only took about a month. Lucid plastic feels great, but it wears way too quickly. After about 3 months, it turned over on almost every throw, before I decided to stop using it entirely.

This is a fantastic, do-it-all fairway driver. Out of the box they start out overstable and beat in to have a touch of mid-flight turn. They don't lose their reliable fade though. Powered up they can go very far with the same dependability.

Its like the Felon and River had a baby. Good glide and distance with a strong finish. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because I think its got a little more turn than listed.

Throw it with a touch of hyzer and it flips up and pushes straight for a mile before a nice reliable fade.

Really liking this disc. This is my go to fairway driver for any shot around 300ft that is straight to slightly left at the end(RHBH) currently. This disc for me flies like a teebird3 but I feel as though I get more controllable flights out of this disc. I primarily use this disc backhand but I do use it for those forehand shots that I need a touchy forehand shot that I don't want to use my jawbreaker zone for. Overall fantastic disc, definitely recommend.

Like many discs, what you rate this disc completely depends on what your expectations are going into using it. If you're looking for a disc to get max distance, this is not it. If you're looking for a disc that is flat-topped, this isn't it. However, if you're looking for a further flying firebird that has enough stability to still not turn when throwing into a stiff wind, then this is a great choice for you!

We have a particular hole at my local course that I constantly wavered on what to throw. It's 275' with large trees in front of it, so you have to approach it from the right or left. I used to throw my Verdict, which sometimes would work out, but if not thrown perfectly, it wouldn't get the ground play I needed to get left enough to get close to the basket. The Evader has become my "go to" disc for this hole, because it's more overstable than my Verdict, gets easier distance, and also gets more skip left towards the basket. Now, I birdie this hole far more often than not! But to be honest, this is pretty much the only hole I use this disc on. It's in my bag, but it just doesn't get used a lot.

I have been an Explorer thrower for a long time, but I thought I would try this when I dunked my favorite Explorer in a lake.  The Evader is a bit more overstable and a little more dependable than the Explorer, which I didn't think I needed.  It has a little more finish to it than the Explorer has.  I can control it a little easier due to the increase in stability.  I notice this in rounds as well as field work.  I find my Evader does better and closer to what I want more consistently than my other fairway drivers.

It can handle a FH decent as well, not as well as a XXX or Felon, but reliable with a nice smooth flick.  Overall this is a solid disc and the lower speed makes it so versatile to beginner level players.  this won't get you crazy distance, but it will be a very good workhorse disc that you go to when you need it.

I got a lucid evader as a entry and went and threw it immediately.  I love it, it flies longer than the explorer for me.  It hyzerflips beautifully and doesn't turn on me.  holds a straight line and finishes with a little fade.  It flew like a seasoned striker.  Im going to get another to have as a backup.  Great Disc.

I have these in Lucid, Lucid Ice (Sockibomb), and Lucid-X, all near 175g.

Lucid: This is the longest of the bunch, glide unsersold at 4. Very straight with a solid overstable finish. Exhibits some minor high speed turn once it's seasoned. Very good for a slight hyzer flip forehand as well.

Lucid Ice (Sockibomb): this is what was missing between lucid and Lucid-X. A little extra stability over the regular lucid, and seems noticeably more resilient to a headwind than the regular lucid. Not quite as long or glidey, very true to printed flight numbers.

Lucid-X: super beef. Little brother to a fresh felon, or big brother to a justice depending on your point of reference. Super predictable. Shortest of the bunch, but pretty much completely unaffected by anything but the harshest of winds.

Between these 3 plastics, the Evader is practically the perfect overstable 7 speed fairway. I have to imagine the lucid air or a super beat lucid would provide maverick like flights eventually and cover pretty much your entire gamut of 7 speed fairway shots.

Throwing the Evader in Lucid plastic wonderful! The Lucid plastic has a great durable and gummy feel to it, I absolutely love it. The rim on this disc is a good size. I think it fits my somewhat large hands quite comfortably. Whether its a power grip or a forehand grip, it is easy to grab and rip.

The stability and the speed of this disc is pretty solid. I have a hard time unintentionally turning this disc over. It pretty much corrects itself to flat somewhat quickly. I really like how straight this thing flies. The fade at the end is always rather predictable and a good way for this disc to finish. I find that this is a great workhorse driver, I reach for it pretty often.

I would recommend this disc to anyone. It is pretty awesome!

Love this disc! It will feel very familiar to anyone who throws an Explorer. It has just a touch more finish than an Explorer, while retaining all the glide and distance. Thrown around 300', this disc has a nice strong finish for me. Smashed out closer to 400', the disc holds very straight and will even turn the slightest bit, but still finishes back dependably.

The numbers are right on, but I think a 4 glide might undersell the distance this thing can get. I think this disc is the perfect cross between an Explorer and a Getaway.

This disc scoots. Buy one if you like Explorers!

The review applet would not let me select the right plastic, I own this in beautiful shimmer Lucid-X.

This disc falls somewhere between a Latitude 64 Explorer and a Legacy Rival, both great, nearly identical imo, discs. This disc is surprisingly flippy for an overstable disc when compared to these two though, which is why I would only give it 4 stars.
