The Pestilence, by Doomsday Discs, is part of the Catastrophic Line of discs. It is a wide-rim distance driver that is understable enough to be handled by new players. For experienced players, it is an excellent tool for hyzer-flip and long s-curve shots. Reach your maximum potential on long throws without needing maximum arm speed or power. After the world comes crumbling down, you'll be able to use the Pestilence well into the dystopian future.

    Landfill Details

Landfill plastic from Doomsday Discs is a recycled blend using the shredded remains of other premium discs to create a semi-firm, semi-flexible disc riddled with imperfect colorations and slight flaws. These could be called X-Outs or Factory 2nds, but they're actually recycled and thus made from X-Outs. They're priced cheaper as a good, affordable option for throwing. It's not like recycling will save the world from ultimate destruction, but it can sure make our stay on the planet more pleasant while we're still here.

I field tested this together with my seasoned Pro Katana (13|5|-3|3), it being the closest I have to the flight numbers given for the Pestilence. Even though my Katana is rather beat in, the Pestilence was still clearly more understable, and didn't manifest as much fade at the end either; therefore I'd say the flight numbers are about right on this, though maybe it doesn't need to be thrown at speed 13. It might be suitable as a 12 or even 11 and still given you the same very understable flight. If you get it on the right hyzer release, and don't crank on it too much (and/or throw it too hard into the wind) it can still produce some nice long flights, though it still tends to keep veering off to the right (RHBH). Tailwinds help. As others have noted, this would be an easy disc with which to get rollers (controling the trajectory of the roll may be another matter). I didn't take it out for direct comparison at the same time, but the Pestilence behaves pretty similarly to my wife's Basilisk. My wife doesn't throw very hard but has done really well with the high-speed, -4 Turn Basilisk, so I think that despite the 13-speed rating, the understability of the Pestilence is prominent enough that newer players could probably do pretty well with this as well. The dirt brown color of this Landfill plastic (with darker flecks throughout) may make it hard to find if it gets off the fairways on some courses, but the feel and grippiness of the disc is good -- and it's nice to know that it comes from recyling.
