The Area 51 by Doomsday Discs is a stable approach disc that is easy to control whether throwing backhand or forehand. As part of the Conspiracy Line of discs it attests to the fact that there is a lot we are not meant to know, but with the Area 51, you may discover the secret to a better short distance game. Approved on 8/7/23

    Ration Details

Ration plastic from Doomsday Discs is a base-line blend in their Prepper Line of discs. It is similar to other affordable base plastics on the market, like DX or Retro. It is a great choice for putters or for players who want their mids and drivers in a softer blend for different flight characteristics than premium blends.

The flight numbers seem pretty accurate to me: The Area 51 flies very much like my other very overstable 4-speeds (the Yikun Crossbow & Yao; also the Viking Axe & Warrior, which I think act more overstable than their numbers suggest). I can throw this as hard as a driver and still not get any turn out of this like I can with, say, my Destroyer, and it fades more quickly. I'd have thought a 4-speed would get turned over a little bit at least with decent power behind it, but even into a headwind I couldn't get any turn out of it, just a delayed or less pronounced fade. I have to throw it into a wind and or on anhyzer to get it very far before it fades off strongly. I don't have a good forehand, but this would probably be better suited for strong forehand flicks than my RHBH throws. I got this on sale in Ration plastic -- a base grade, which I'm not so much a fan of typically, and Ration doesn't feel as grippy as some others; however, for me and such an overstable disc, this grade may at least help me beat the disc in a bit more readily making it suit me better over time.
