The Spectra is easy, accurate distance. I'm surprised at the bad reviews, because this is such an easy throwing disc. I'd rate it as 10/5/-2/2. It finishes straight when thrown flat. I use it for 300' - 350' throws, which are effortless. My Spectra is in Phaze 2 ESP plastic, which holds it's stability for a long time. I could take or leave the Supercolor...I don't mind it, but I don't want to pay extra for it. I have no problem with the grip. If you have inconsistency problems, this is a great disc to try. The reviewers that say it throws inconsistent need to work on their form as this is a very forgiving disc.

I like to hyser flip the Spectra ... it flips up easy with a good snap, and finishes with a nice predictable fade.

I have 3 in the Phaze 2 ESP plastic, weighing in the 174 - 176 gram range, and they are all just slightly understable...definitely not flippy. I'm wondering if they are more flippy in Z plastic...I wouldn't think so, but I've never thrown a Spectra in Z plastic.

I'll preface this by saying that I love the Innova Wahoo and I was looking for a similar disc that wasn't made with such a soft plastic (R-Pro) that would hold up to getting banged around a little more. I couldn't be more pleased. From its maiden toss, the Spectra soars for me and I am an intermediate strength player. For reference, I can throw it endzone to endzone repeatedly without trying to overdo it, so we're probably talking 330+ feet on a very clean s-curved path. It feels nice in the hand; the z-supercolor plastic feels kind of like the titanium plastic, or something between ESP and Elite-Z. I find it to be a very easy to throw high speed driver which must mean that it's good for newer folks looking to experiment with higher speed discs and probably less desired by powerful and experienced folks.

Surpised the hate that the Spectra is getting here. I personally love this disc! It has the stability to where I can crush it and still get a straight shot out of it. One of the only discs I know exactly where it's going to land.

The Supercolor plastic is super grippy and there is a little tiny ring around the inside of the rim that is nice for a slower controlled throw. Definitely my go to disc for a straight par 3 hole.

One of the biggest hyped, yet worst, drivers ever released. The Spectra was a big failure. It didn't glide that well and was too understable to maximize distance. This disc was basically irrelevant even a decade ago when it was released. in the time since, a ton of other discs have been introduced that fly far better. I suppose beginners might like the Spectra, but for seasoned players looking for understable distance there are a TON of far better options available.

The Spectra is incredibly flippy and understable. The Super Color Spectra I used was in the 170 - 172g class and immediately turns right after hard throws. I'd give it a turn rating of -5. I'm really not a very powerful thrower, but this driver is too understable for me. When I try to throw it forehand it immediately crashes into the ground and turns into a roller if it doesn't flip completely over. Newer players, or disc golfers that throw with less snap might get some great distance with the Spectra, but I had a lot of trouble trying to get it to go where I wanted. Also the PhaZe 4 supercolor plastic is not nearly as durable as regular Z plastic.
