I love this disc. It feels awesome for forehands and is my go to distance driver for any forhands as you can put it on a flex line and the disc will hold that flex well and then be sure to have a solid fade at the end of the flight. Cannot recomend it enough.

The Pulse is a low profile and thin nose driver.  It's very overstable and I did not find it workable at all, it is better used as a utility driver with a big skip.  However, to get a skip you need to make sure the nose isn't pointing down too far when it lands because it is very sharp and likes to stick.  The Pulse has a thumb track which I can't stand on drivers.  It's not deep like a Banger GT or anything, but it's there and it isn't conducive for modifying your thumb position.

The low profile is neat and aside from the thumb track it feels decent in my hand.  It is great for cutting through the wind and dropping pin-point hyzers in any weather condition.  It's also great at cutting off tree branches that hang in the fairway.  It's good for sidearm shots because of the low profile and torque resistance, but even side arm it doesn't like to flip up for me and I found myself throwing it on anhyzers just to get a normal flight out of it.

There is a reason the Pulse was discontinued, it isn't good for much more than an overstable utility disc, and at that point there are better options.

The Pulse from Discraft is an overstable distance driver. This thing was really lacking any sort of glide for me. This can be good or bad depending on what you expect from the disc. I like my discs to be a little more on the glidey side, so this really wasn't for me. I would say this disc had a strong 3-4 in the fade department, making it overstable, and really no turn. I could see where many would like this disc, but it wasn't for me.

A great disc to just hold a hyzer if you are a new player. It's pretty overstable and doesn't glide very much which makes it a really good option for a forehand driver as well. It was in my bag for several months but was replaced by a PD that I prefer, still a great disc though!

Numbers are somewhat accurate. It has way more glide than 4. More like 6. Stays in the air for a while. I can get good distance with this disc. One of my favorites for being overstable.

Got my 1st ace with this disc!

I'd say it reads more of a 11/6/0/3

Stays on a very long straight line then banks hard at the end. Great forehand disc and good too for backhand.

The distance will surprise you, everytime I throw it, it ended up further than I thought it did by about 30ft or more.

The Pulse hasn't really been relevant for a while, but it does what its supposed to. Nice, overstable speed 10 driver. I almost feel like Discraft released this to replace the Crush. They fly very similarly.

The Pulse is fairly flat and doesn't glide that well. Big arms will be able to crush it, but overall it isn't a super long disc compared to some stuff that's out today. It fights wind well and is actually ideal for precision drives in windy conditions. Its overstable enough that it will fly consistently every time you throw it.

Decent workhorse of a driver, but there are much faster, longer options around these days.

    I'd say speed 10, glide 4, turn -1, fade 3.

The Discraft ESP Pulse is a low-glide, overstable meathook of a distance driver that'll hold up very nicely in any windy situations and dogleg holes. It features a smaller rim than most Discraft Distance Drivers and it feels like the bridge between a Distance and Fairway driver (in terms of rim size). I like it more than most people do, it is pretty overstable and doesn't have a lot of glide, but it feels good in the hand, I like the little groove where you place your thumb and I really like the flat profile of the top of the disc. It feels really comfortable in my hand and it goes a fairly decent distance (for my arm speed and compared to my other drives): 225-300 ft. There are definitely better really overstable drivers that I would recommend over this disc, but it'll be in my bag for the foreseeable future and I really like the feel of it in my hand, it's a very smooth disc and I can get a really nice release on it both backhand and forehand.

A very underrated disc that you dont hear a lot about, but it is a very predictable probably 9 speed disc! Only have thrown it forehand but this disc has some good dumping fade to it and of course with the esp plastic it will beat up in time and become a go to backhand disc for headwinds!

Why is This Disc Still Made?

Another Discraft disc that most people haven't heard of. For awhile there, Discraft was just firing out overstable disc after overstable disc...I will never know why they discontinued the Venom and Raptor, but kept this junk disc around. The thumb groove on top isn't as extreme as the Banger Groove Top, so it's barely noticeable...which honestly makes you wonder why they heck they put it there!

Thrown backhand, you will see a small bit of turn with a huge, dumping fade. Normally, Discraft ESP plastic has some decent glide, but not on the lame Pulse. It's just a brick of a disc. It's "meant" for sidearm throws, but in doing so, I would get quite a bit of turn from the natural torque of a forehand throw.

Skip this disc...there is far better options from Discraft.

This is the most under-rated Discraft disc in my opinion.

It is the perfect forehand driver.  It's not a max D driver by any means but you can certainly get some speed and distance out of it.

It is one of my favorites because its a well balanced disc.  It's not too wide rim, its not too overstable, I can throw it backhand or forehand.

I carry 2 pulses, One is 170 and old, like 7 years+ and its in the $ spot of having flight nu,bers more like 11/5/-1/2.5  My newer 174g has a higher PLH and is fresh and heavier, it flies true to the 11/4/0/3.  One of the only discs I carry multiples of.  I can pull this out for many drives around 300+ or if I need a power forehand that will hook up.  Again, its not a max D disc, its not a crazy S shaping disc, its just a controlled overstable comfortable driver.  I REALLY REALLY wish Discraft made more of these and in different plastics.  The slight thumbtrack makes this kinda unique and comfy for forehands.  GREAT DISC

The Pulse is what it says it is, an overstable driver. I like this disc for backhand meat hook throws, but prefer other discs for forehand drives. The pulse has a weird ridge on the top of the rim that throws off my normal thumb position for my forehand throws. If you get a Pulse for free somewhere, then it makes a decent overstable driver, but if you're looking to buy an overstable driver, I prefer the Innova Firebird.
