Summary: I'd argue this is the beginners Buzzz.

Feel: Really rounded in most areas, the top being really gradual and almost unnoticeably domey. The understability leaves the rim feeling really low and cutting back quickly at the bottowm of the wing. Generally comfortable for any hand size from smaller to slightly larger than average.

Flight: For me as a beginner it just flew like a Buzzz does for pros. Holds very straight when thrown at 50-60%, and will stand up just a bit when thrown harder. The numbers may be a bit misleading for slower arms, needing a little time to beat in to fully flip like it says it will.

I found my meteor in a swamp and it has never left my bag. This disc has a ton of utility baked into it. I can launch it at 70% power on hyzer and it will have a gentle turn for the entire flight. It's also great for getting around trees, by sending it into the sky with a little bit of anhyzer, it'll catch the air and float down predictably. It's a great disc for beginners and experienced players alike.

Whenever my friends are starting to get into disc golf, I hand them one of my (too many) Discraft Meteors. These discs are the easiest mid-range for a beginner to figure out. So much glide, is not too over-stable and fits the hand so well. The ones I look for are a bit domey but that's because I feel they fit my hand better and glide farther.

I have thrown the ESP as well and they beat in to be much flippier. I prefer the Z-Line as they still have some integrity as they beat in. I use my Z-Line Meteor for hyzer-flip shots in tight hallways, anhyzer release for clean turnovers, and really any backhand approach that is too far for my throwing putters.

For some reason, this disc just doesn't want to turn. As an understable midrange, I want to be able to throw this flat and 60-70% and have it easily turn but it doesn't. If i want this to turn, I have to put anhyzer on it which defeats the purpose if an understable disc. The Discmania Orgin quickly replaced this disc. Not terrible for straight shots but it's just not as advertized.

I love recommending understable discs to beginners, especially in premium plastics. You can keep it forever and learn how discs beat in as you get better with the disc. The meteor starts out straight as a beginner and becomes a great turnover disc for backhand if you prefer to use it instead of going forehand.

The Meteor is a highly versatile beadless mid that pretty much anyone can throw.

Compared to other understable midranges, I find the Meteor to be quite forgiving. It releases cleanly on a backhand or a forehand, and responds well to a wide range of arm speeds.

The Z-plastic takes a very long time to season, hence the higher than rated fade score. As a weekend warrior disc golfer it took me three years to properly beat one to be a true -3 turn, 1 fade.

For context, this is the understable compliment to my neutral Truths and my more overstable Malta.

Laser straight flyer! If I throw this flat it turns just slightly to the right before finishing cleanly to the left, with just a touch of hyzer this disc flies straight as an arrow. When I hit it right I have no problem getting this disc north of 275 ft. I am by no means advanced but this disc has really helped me take my game up a notch and is absolutely my favorite disc on wooded courses.

I don't feel like this is quite a -3 turn, it definitely has a bit less turn than the comparable Innova Stingray which I turn over very easily when throwing flat. This disc holds lines well and is very controllable.

I have an ESP Meteor and it is the understable midrange I have been looking for. I went through quite a few before trying the Meteor and the general problem for me is that most understable mids are very touchy and hard to control. The Meteor for me is easy to control for nice smooth turnovers or hyzer flip tunnel shots. I tried the Comet but I hate the rim on that disc. The Meteor has a very comfortable rim and shoulder, allowing for a variety of grips. When I need a shot with more understability than my Buzzz, the Meteor is now my top choice. Great disc for beginners because it is slow and fairly straight, easy to throw.

I absolutely love this disc. Amazing for hyzerflip bombs. It fits amazing in my hand and I love the feel of the plastic. I pull this out for any shot I feel like flipping something up that past 300ft. If I really crank on it I can get it to max, but rarely need to use it for that. Absolutely love this disc if I am needing to hit a tight gap off the tee. Definitely lives up to its title of being a hyzerflip king. Definitely recommend this disc for everyone.

I love the Meteor! This was the first non-starter pack disc I purchased. I am a RHBH thrower and I originally wanted it for a right finishing option in the bag. The Elite Z Meteor has been really easy disc to throw from the start as its glide and turn help keep the disc in flight and straight down the fairway. As I have progressed in arm power using the Meteor for hyzer flip shots has been extremely useful. I am able to get 300ft of distance in a relatively straight line throwing a hyzer flip.

I like the Elite Z plastic. I find it to have enough grip in my hand (though I have not played a full round in rain), and very durable (I've introduced the disc to a number of trees :)).

I have a pretty weak forehand at this point, however with the Meteor I am able to eek out about my maximum distance. Again the glide and turn help to compensate for my lack of release velocity.

I cannot recommend this disc enough, especially for those looking to step up from starter pack type discs.

One of my favorites of all time. Years ago I saw a friend of mine nearly ace a 275' hole I usually forehand and its flight was so pleasing to watch I had to get one. Once I did I haven't looked back. On a RHBH I use it for slight to moderate anhyzer shots, and it will fly very reliably once you get the hang of it. If you throw it nose up it will eventually stall out and has a bit of fade. Any 250' hole with a smooth hook to the right, this disc will shine when thrown right. Feels comfortable to me, I immediately liked this disc.

Under stable/stable and super glidey. This will hold its initial like for a long time before a gentle fade. Glide is more like 6. I don't have a huge arm and this is my go to mid.

I think the meteor is a great beginner mid range for people with slower arms. I had thrown this thing dead straight many times without and fade and have thrown some really nice turnover shots with it. I found that my z meteor is more overstable than I originally thought. I can throw it for super nice turnover shots but have to put a lot of angle on it for it to hold, and if I do not get enough power it will fade out usually a little at the end. But still this disc will fly dead straight for a lot of people throwing and you can put it on a lot of angles. I think this disc works best for wooded courses because of its versatility and understability that easily gets messed with in windy conditions.

This disc is extremely versatile IF you take the time to learn it. The profile works well for me RHFH and RHBH. In Z plastic, I mainly use it for RHBH hyzer-flips, and anhyzer fore-hands that hold and land flat. Basically any approach shot 80-200ft is reserved for the Meteor (or the Zone if it's crazy windy).

With just a little activation power you can get a nice smooth flight, even from a tough stance. I've gotten skip-in birdies both forehand and backhand from the rough with this disc.

The Z-plastic is incredibly durable. My original Meteor has 3 years in the bag and I just added a second one to the bag last month.

The flight numbers feel about right to me with the turn being just a tick less due to the Z plastic feeling a bit more stable out of the box.

For a new player, this is the fourth disc. An understable-mid is a great teaching tool for anyone fresh off the starter pack high.

I don't know how I first heard about the Meteor (maybe an ace from an old CCDG video?) but I'm very glad I did.

    For reference, I've got a 170g stock stamp and a 177g fly-dyed, both in Z-plastic.

The Meteor, from Discraft, is an outstanding choice for beginners who are looking to get into the game. It gives players with low power some pretty easy distance with minimal effort. I really liked this disc for huge anhyzers, as it gets on the line and just glides forever. I did find the disc had some ability to hold up to a bit of power and really worked well on hyzerflips. This could be a great woods disc for an experienced player.

I bought one of these for my dad for Christmas and I picked one up for myself as well because I always buy him discs I want as well. His was 172G and mine was 168g. My dad absolutely loved his and it became his go to midrange as it held a consistently line with only slight fade. For me the disc never felt right in my hand and it had way more fade than advertised. I much prefer using my Tui putter for approach shots then the meteor and it holds anhyzer lines much better than this disc advertised. After a couple rounds of trying to get a feel for this disc it no longer has a place in my bag (my dad lost his and I happily gave him mine).

This disc likes to be thrown like a driver. There's a threshold that needs to be crossed before you really lock in that turn, but when you do, this thing tracks beautifully. Doesn't turn and burn. It just drifts. If you back off, you get a very straight flight, which is why I think this is a great beginners disc from Discraft (the Glide too...) If you're looking for more of a touch mid, I'd go Comet.

Second midrange I ever bought back in 2013. Hasn't left the bag, and unless my rotator cuff magically gets stronger and I can work on my FH, it probably will never leave the bag. Over the years I've added a pinch of hyzer so it flips up then turns over.

I don't get this as far as my Buzzz, since the Meteor is turning at the end of its flight so it touches down earlier. Using it for the 300-325 range.

I've tried to go with a more neutral to slightly understable like a Mako, Buzzz SS, Fuse, etc but I like the  true understable discs I can really pop up, and have them track right (RHBH) on their own.

The Meteor is a nice midrange disc.  It is easy to throw good for beginners and good for hyzer flips for more powerful arms.  The Meteor also has some nice glide it loves to float in air and can get some nice distance.

I picked up this disc because I didn't have an understable midrange disc in my bag. I wanted to be able to throw a backhand shot and still get a lot of fade to the right on my throw. I don't have a good forehand, and this disc helps make up for that. I don't have to try and turn it over, I just tell myself to throw it straight and I get to watch the disc do the work. I prefer this disc for wooded holes that dog leg right. Mine doesn't have hardly any fade at the end, and sometimes will fly right and finish right. This disc is easy for beginners to throw, the elite z plastic feels great as well!

I originally bought this disc for my wife due to its under stability and found myself using it more and more often. Short finesse midrange shots is where this disc excels! It has a substantial amount of glide so a little effort will allow it to carry a long way. Too much power and it will turn over or you can hyper flip it with a smooth hyper finish. Absolutely love this disc, a must have for every player.

Throw this level with some power and the meteor will hold a nice turnover line. Thrown with hyzer and the same amount of power, it will flip up and fly straight. The disc loves height and if given enough height, it will fade out of its turn. The esp meteor has more glide than the z or crystal meteors that are out there.
