My Flight Ratings: 11/5/-1/2 Neutral Throwing Distance: N/A Straight Score: N/A

Bought this at my local shop this afternoon and took it out to my practice spot for a few throws. I had watched reviews online of the prototype and noticed many reviewers stated it was more stable than they anticipated. No surprise there as most protos are more stable than stock runs.
First throw I was pleased to see a long straight flight with a subtle low-speed fade at the end. I completed several more throws and noticed that I was matching the distance I typically only get with my preferred seasoned distance drivers. The numbers for me seemed spot on. Just as much glide as my seasoned Wraiths, but not as much low-speed fade. Best description I can think of is the same type of pushing fade you get on a new Buzzz, but much, much further.
If you are a long bomber then the flight may be different for you. I typically max out on the course around 380' with the majority of my shot placement drives reaching about 330'. I didn't have any problem hitting 330' with this disc straight off the shelf. The best part was the flight was pretty much straight for 85% of it's flight.

*NOTE* I only give 5-stars out to discs that I bag and throw actively. A 4-star disc is great. It may come in and out of the bag for me, but I could see another player actively bagging it.

Is this the Discraft Grace? Not quite. I found that the hand feel was incredible. The shape of the Drive has a very 'neutral' feel. I feel that very few players will this uncomfortable in the hand. As always, the Discraft ESP plastic is gorgeous and has a very smooth and finished feel.

Out of the box, the flight reminded me a lot of a beat-in Grace. I don't think this warrants a change in the flight numbers, but this still has a very good flight to it. By all counts the Drive is less stable than a Wraith. The flight and feel reminds me a lot of the Surge so I wonder is this is some sort of retool of that mold.

The Drive is the definition of a control driver. I always feel like I don't have to rip on 11 speeds an the Drive is no different. Easy distance, extremely controlable and one that I that I'm sure a lot of amateur and professional players will have a good use for. I would be interested to see how this flies in some sort of Z Line plastic to hopefully get some more stability out of the mold.
