been playing a little over a year now and have improved very much 890 player rating (im sneaky long a lot of people say)....80/20 backhand/fore. i was using a Thrasher, Havoc for this shot...BOOMING hyzer flip...i bet slight tail i hit that 425+ second toss after turning it into the ground first flat crush...i was looking for a little more than a meteor/lepard3 could get in distance...more than i anticipated...i dig it, feels good, nice rim, pro plastic.  interested if this will be a monster bh roller disc??? pick one up n enjoy

If you have enough arm speed for this, it is about perfect bh max distance driver if their is no headwind.  I can even use this for hyzer flip fh shots.  It is similar to my very beat-in Torrents but a new Tempest still turns more and fades more.  The Tempest will also beat-in, but the Proline takes a while.  I really can't think of a better disk in its class...  if DGA offered it in different (more stable and even more durable) plastics I would carry more of them.

Excellent high speed understable driver. I have been searching for an understable bomber recently and this disc seems to fit the bill. It feels great in the hand, like a destroyer, Zeus, or enforcer, but is much easier to turn over. If there isn't too much wind to fight, this disc is great for shaping your longest throws...

This disc did not get used until I go throw 350ft+ drives consistently. When I was throwing 300-340 ft drives, I actually got more distance out of my Wraith than this disc. This disc was also not forgiving if you got the wrong launch angle. If you let it go a little too high, then it would fade forever and not get much distance.

Once I started surpassing the 350ft mark consistently, I pulled this disc out just to see what would happen. I let it fly and this disc went over 400ft. Which immediately put it as one of 3 discs in my bag that I could throw 400ft (other two are the Tern and Boss). For me, this disc does extremely well on flat ground holes with low wind. If the wind picks up a little, it can turn over and go into the ground.

I am giving this disc 3 stars because it does not have much use for beginners, it does not do well in windy environments, and it glides so much that it is not forgiving if your launch angle is off slightly.

Amazing disc to throw. Able to hyzer flip with minimal effort and maximize my distance. I can definitely see why this disc is so popular! Predictable and safe to throw in most situations

If you can tame the tempest, you can start hitting the same lines at half power. The glide and push on this disc are INCREDIBLE. I can use this disc for finesses shots at 250 or 500 feet, and plan to use it for a massive downhill hole where I want to get down to the right and possibly roll another couple hundred feet. Flips up just the right amount.

My favorite distance driver. Replaced the daedalus in my bag. This disc glides and glides and glides while being consistently understable.

Understable fast speed drivers are my kryptonite!  I can't help get them for that constant urge to get more distance.  I picked up a Tempest from a monthly disc subscription and after throwing it for several rounds, I am very pleased with it.  It gets down the fairway quickly.  I've had some of my longest throws without getting a full flight with it.

The pro-line plastic feels good and grippy.  I throw this with a FH, so I start it on a hyzer and it will pop up flat and rides for a long time before it finishes right.  I can compare the Tempest to the Cannon, Sheriff, and the Destiny.  So far, the Tempest is a more reliable disc to get that big distance.  What I like best about the Tempest is that it doesn't use such a wide S curve like the other three mentioned drivers use.  Which means you can use it in more situations rather than just big open areas.

The catch will be the expiration date.  It seems every high speed understable disc has an expiration date, that once it passes, it becomes so unreliable you almost can't throw them anymore.

Definitely worth a throw if you want some distance and have the arm!

The DGA Tempest is a very understable high speed distance driver. This is one of those discs that people are either going to love -- because it gives them more distance than anything else, or hate -- because it is too inconsistently flippy if you have too much power. This disc is up there with drivers like the Vibram unLace and MVP Orbital in terms of fast bust still understable. The rim isn't ultra thick on the Tempest, but this is still definitely a high speed driver. You need to put at least moderate power behind it to get it to go straight without just fading out, but with the right amount of power you get a nice amount of high speed turn that allows it to get maximum distance.

I highly recommend this disc for disc golfers who max out at about 300 feet of distance. The combination of speed, understability, and glide make this one of those unique discs that provide max distance for the right type of player. Personally, I prefer the grippiness and feel of the Vibram unLace to the DGA Tempest, but since Vibram no longer makes golf discs, this is a great alternative.

I snagged a Tempest and went out to a nearby course and gave it a try. First impression: This thing BOMBS. Second impression: It's pretty flippy. So basically, if you put it on a stiff hyzer it'll pop up and go forever, gently turning throughout the flight before a decent fade at the end. Reminded me a lot of my Katana.

More throws and it's flippy-ness does show, and my accuracy went down a bit- but it went far. If you're a slightly slower arm, this thing will probably fly awesome for you. It reminds me of an Unlace.

The rim of the disc isn't too bad either, doesn't feel quite as thick as some of the speed 13s out there. Maybe more of a 12. It's manageable though, so don't write this one off as "too high speed for me". You might end up liking it.

OK, it was fun testing this disc! This is a distance bomber for the rest of us. It reminds me quite a bit of the Shryke where it can really get out there, but has a straight-to-understable flight path. For me, it pulled quite a bit to the right (throwing RHBH) before going through a gentle fade. But the fade was far from dramatic-- it is a slight fight that still glides forward for extra distance.

Power throwers will probably find the Tempest to be too understable for them, but for me, somebody who maxes around 350 ft, it was a fun disc to throw. I love the feel of the plastic as well.
