For a putter with an almost rubber-band soft feel, the Blunt Gumbputt is fantastic! This disc falls straight down after it hits any target, making it one of the best short-range (and long range) putters that you could ask for. Of the super-soft putters on the market, the Gumbputt was the very first and it was Steady Ed's (the founder of disc golf) putter of choice. The Blowfly 1 is the same disc but with bubbles in the plastic, similar to Blizzard Champion.

Between the DGA Blowfly 1, blowfly 2, and the gumb putt, the gumb putt definitely has the most stability. This is the DGA floppy putter that you can rely on having some fade more so than the other ones. Personally I like it the most for safe runs on the putting green for that reason. As far as a throwing putter goes, I haven't felt perfectly comfortable throwing any of the floppy putters, but the gumb putt is definitely decent for short upshots, and you can fold this putter into a ball and throw it which is definitely another perk...

serves a specific purpose.  my home course is very hilly and has potential for many roll aways.  i use this when i need an approach shot or putt to stick, it will not roll except under extreme circumstances.   flies straight inside 15 ft or so, outside of that it will fade some.   if it hits anything, it will greatly affect the flight.

Probably one of my favorite putt/approach discs for courses with a lot of hills. My buddies give me a ton of crap for bagging a Gumbputt, but it has save me multiple strokes out on the course. If you miss a putt with this, it isn't rolling down the hill. It hits the ground, folds on impact, and then lays flat.

When it's good, it's really good. This sticks to chains and is really soft on the basket. The soft, rubbery material absorbs impact in situations where other discs would bounce, rebound, or ricochet, plus the dreaded squeezing through the chains and out the back. I use this almost exclusively inside the 10m circle. Despite it's loose feel, it flies surprisingly straight with a typical putt, which is mostly wrist and a bit of arm.

Time when I don't use it: I have no idea if it will go 250', like the diagram says, but I find that it is hard to control when I'm really swinging my arm and getting some body twist into it. Your mileage may vary, but if I go outside the circle much, I use another disc. Because it absorbs impact, I also don't use it any time there is a posibility to knick branches or leaves on its flight. It won't fight its way through that stuff. Also, wind seems to affect it. I think that's because I'll put a little more snap/spin on the disc in the wind, and this absorbs that energy. Whatever the reason, as the wind and distance to the basket increase, I'm less likely to use this.

One other note - dust and mud are a little harder to clean off of this thing because it does have kind of a tacky feel. Note that the tacky feel to it actually makes it a bit sticky on the chains. It's more like rubber than plastic.

So, that's what it's good for and what it's not good for, at least within the limitations of yours truly. Just like any disc, it's just as important to know when NOT to use as anything. But for normal putting inside 10m, this thing rocks.

This is one of the most unusual discs ever made. Super, super rubbery, but it is plastic and not rubber like Vibram. You can fold this disc up and carry it in your pocket, then pull it out and fling it in for a birdie.

When this disc came out DGA said it was the straightest flying disc ever made and claimed you could play catch at 300 feet. Well, my friend and I were able to play catch at 200 feet, but distance beyond that is hard due to glide and wind. If you just ignore how floppy it is and just fling it, it goes dead straight, unless wind gets under it. If wind gets under it, it could do just about anything.

It has more glide than advertised, but hits and sticks at the end of its flight.

For best results, grip it and throw it like a frisbee, not like a golf disc.

The Gumputt is hilarious. So soft, so gummy, so ridiculous....it his and sticks. It's almost hard to describe. It's so floppy, it's very hard to throw for any sort of distance, but if you can, you will find a pleasantly neutral flight. Really great for risky putts that absolutely must stick. The Gumputt does get really dirty really quick though....something to be aware of.

I really love this disc. I started using it when I first started playing and got so used to it, I never really used any other putter. That was until I tried putting with it in a tournament in a very strong wind. My putt went straight for the chains, turned upright and blew back at me! From that point on I experimented with just about every putter on the market. Found a few that I liked for a while, but they were never as consistent for me as the gumb putt. I finally settled on the Ridge from Vibram and I use this when there is any wind at all. On the few occasions when there is no wind, I pull out my trusty Gumb Putt and nail them every time! Sticks to the chains, no spit outs, doesn't roll away or down a hill if you overshoot the basket.
