The Blowfly 1 takes “super soft” discs to a new level. This disc is not only soft, but flexible and bendable. The Blowfly 1 has a slightly overstable flight to it. This disc travels at slow speeds and stops where it lands without sliding much. If you like soft putters, this is a disc you’ll want in your bag. The Blowfly 1 has an interesting shape that feels very comfortable for a fangrip, but strange for a powergrip. (Who knows why you'd want to power grip a disc like this anyways). The Blowfly 1 and the Blunt Gumbputt have a very similar feel.

Great soft approach disc. Disc is soft enough to stick almost all landings, yet firm enough that it can handle some torque without flopping out of the hand.

Just bought this disc a couple of weeks ago. The main reason i bought this disc is for putts and approach shots to baskets that are on a slope. This disc is very floppy and will collapse under its own weight when it lands on its edge. This is not a putter I putt with every time but it's very handy to have in your bag to avoid roll aways. As a plus, this disc is supposed to float, so that could come in handy as well although I haven't had the pleasure to test this out yet!

These discs fly really well as long as you don't torque it to hard to fast. I can actually get mine to 300'. They turn slow then fade back. If you want to learn a smooth forehand, this disc is awesome for forehands as it's shallow but also the rim is angled to prevent any oats from grip. This has replaced my neutral driving putters but also is the ultimate utility disc. Either fold it into a ball and throw to get out of brush or need something to stick on a hill. This has saved me plenty for a spot in my bag.

If you're considering buying this disc, it's probably because you have a local course that has surprised you with a few roll-aways or you are trying to improve your approach game.

This is a gummy putter. The reason gummy putters are sought after is because you can drop a disc nice and close to the basket without much skip, rolling, or sliding. A stiff plastic disc doesn't absorb energy very well and that's where you'll see a disc hit the ground and either skip or stand up and roll-away. Soft putters are meant to absorb that energy from it's flight and stop on a dime.

The Blowfly stops on a dime. Which makes it great for hyzer approaches, incline approaches, or approaches on hard ground where other discs would get some ground-play. You can putt if you'd like, but I don't recommend it.

The downside is that it is an absolute parachute of a disc. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT expose the flight plate to the wind because it will carry very far from your target. You will need to spend some considerable time with this disc getting to know how it responds with and without wind.

I usually don't throw mine outside of 120' because of the unpredictability in the wind; Like I said, its mainly a hyzer approach disc that can flip up if you put a little juice on it.

Be smart with it and it can instantly improve your game.

If you're buying one of these, you probably know what you're getting into. The flight of this disc is great and it's also a very good putter flight wise.

However, my gripe is the feel in hand itself. I personally don't like the rim as it feels like a rim for something a lot more understable and glidey so if you're going to putt with it, I think you have to be a very spin based putter. Throwing, this thing does it's job great and sticks. It's honestly a very good flyer and can handle some power.

Only one other disc gave me that love at first flight feeling. My first mid, the Buzzz. I wish I hadn't slept on the Blowfly for so long! After 30 minutes of messing with it today, it has become my new upshot and driving putter.

On a higher putter line, this thing went dead straight for me. I could see where some fade might come in if you give it time to slow down, but it's so damn grippy, the thing really feels like it comes out of the hand with higher rpm. I don't know if it's the floppiness or the increased gyroscope effect from the dense rim, but it auto corrected from hyzer or anny. I was seriously struggling to get it to fly anything other than dead-on-balls straight. And the range of speed required to get it to fly on that rope, is the largest band I've experienced. I ripped into like a mid (I usually pull a Buzzz out on holes around 330ft): laser beam. Gentle standstills, like I was playing catch: floaty laser beam.

Please never stop making this disc DGA! And to you, potential buyer, pull the trigger. If it doesn't work out for you, you'll have at least tried a piece of dg history from the very first company in our sport.

Initially picked this disc up as a gimmick/novelty disc, but when throwing it I was surprised to find that it actually flies quite well. It flies slightly understable to straight, with soft fade at the end, and can actually fight wind surprisingly well. For putting, the floppiness is a bit strange, but if thrown at the chains, it pretty much rolls over and dies in the basket. Great disc for placement shots as well, as it just kind of flops when it hits the ground.

Between the Blowflies and Gumputts, this iteration just happens to be the most overstable. The plastic is hilariously floppy and grippy, which actually makes it hard to get a powerful throw with...but if you do, you will see a little bit of a turn with a decent fade that will still land flat. This disc will hit and stick no matter what.

This is a great disc.  I use it as a utility disc for putts/approaches that are on or near a hill, also if I just want to ensure a par without worrying about catching a bad roll away from the basket.  The Blowfly I is also great for anhyzer shots to get around trees/bushes/objects.  It will hold whatever line you put it on as long as you give it enough juice, and it will surprise you how much distance you can get from a shot like that.  It can also be used for a hyzer flip with zero fade if you can find the right ratio of hyzer and power.  I think this disc is very versatile and most certainly worth picking up.  Trust me, it can shave strokes from your game.

I got this disc after a player at a Tournament showed me his and told me about where he uses it. I live in Pennsylvania, and the terrain here is quite unique. Some baskets are on the sides or top of hills. Rocks, hard dirt, sand, grass, or wood chips are common around the baskets. After playing in the Tournament and having a ton of rollaways I knew I had to get one of these discs. I thought because of how floppy it was, I wouldn't be able to chuck it very far because it wouldn't be stable enough to do so. I have to say I am pleasantly surprised at how far I can throw it. I am starting to use it more and more for layups, and with surprising accuracy. When it hits the ground, it stays where it lands. I am enjoying the plunk it lands on the ground with, it makes me laugh because of how weird it sounds from a regular disc. I have been narrowly missing the basket, and having drop in putts as a result. I agree with other reviewers that this is a utility disc, but it really is a useful disc for me. I also use it to play catch with someone to warm up before a round or Tournament because it is so soft. The rim is unlike any other golf disc, it has more of a rounded angle on the inside, and it does take a bit to figure out how to grip it to get an effective throw. But once you get it dialed in, then it's amazing. I would recommend this disc for any player. Layup with little chance of roll away, it stays where it lands. Also a great disc for warm up tossing with another player. Great disc!

Disc is so soft and flexible, when you hold it horizontal, the disc droops. So soft, it doesn't really "crash" the chain. This putter will sit and not roll. Poor driving putter. It floats, although, I have no idea why anyone needs a floating putter. Interesting texture on the disc. Very niche putter.
