Crosslap Maximum plastic is a completely unique translucent blend. This plastic is ultra durable. In appearance it looks like Innova Champion or Discraft Z Line, but this blend is much more flexible and tacky.

    Great For All Skill Levels!

I recieved a Crosslap Lucky in Maximum plastic from Sebastian of Team Crosslap specifically because he enjoyed my video review of the Crosslap Credo. Duty bound to give a great review in written and video form, I put the Lucky through it's paces and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, though the Lucky did not make my bag at this time.

In the spirit of full disclosure, I must start off by saying that my understable mid is simply a beat-up DX Roc. It has the graceful flight I desire and offers unparalleled control. I hadn't thrown a true understable mid-range since I gave up Panthers nearly ten years ago. So jumping into testing an understable mid was an interesting experiment.

The Maximum plastic is awesome, first and foremost. Pliable without being truly gummy, super durable and beautiful in appearance (mine was blue and 176 grams). The Lucky is a large diameter mid, giving it a maximum allowable weight of 181 grams. It is beadless, with a small, comfortable wing. The rim has a very dramatic slant, which is usually an indication of overstability, so that was quite unique.

As far as the flight goes, I found the Lucky to fairly closely match the indicated flight numbers. It had a bit more high speed stability than I was thinking. Put it as a -1.5 as opposed to a -2. The fade was minimal, especially when thrown low. The Lucky was easy to hyzerflip for long, dead straight shots. It held anhyzers with aplomb, locking into the line and holding until right before it hit the ground, where it panned out for a nice, hit and stick flat landing. I found the Lucky to be very intuitive and easy to throw. The glide was outstanding, easily matching the Discraft Hawk, Salient Antidote and Innova Panther that I tested it against.

All in all, I give the Lucky a thumbs up. It's a great mid for users of all levels, though beginners and lower-level players will benefit from it the most. For now, I'm sticking with my beat up Rocs but that is only because I am a creature of habit. I could add the Lucky to my bag easily.

I really love the feel of the Maximum plastic and was really excited for the potential of the Lucky. This plastic is clear, but gummy and flexible. It looks and feels like a premium blend and the manufacturing of it looks very professional. This plastic is unique from any other disc plastic on the market. When it comes to the flight of the Lucky, I ended up pretty disappointed. I don't typically throw understable mids, as they are typically too inconsistent for me, so it probably has to do more with me than it does the discs. Even though I liked the look and feel of of this disc so much, I didn't have any better 'luck' getting successful consistent throws with the Lucky.
