The Birdie Disc Golf Reach is akin to the classic "Destroyer" in terms of flight numbers, earning its reputation as the "People's Destroyer." While any fast distance driver with flight characteristics similar to the all-time best-selling disc will inevitably draw comparisons, that's precisely where the similarities end.

Disc golfers, whether they're just starting out or have years of experience, will appreciate the Reach for its unique ability to straighten and glide over great distances. It's not overly stable, yet it reliably returns, providing the expected finish for this type of driver every time.

As far as differences between this and a Destroyer, there aren't many. It flies vitually the same in every way. It gives you reliable fade and solid distance for most arms. It does seem to hold turnover lines a little longer than the Destroyer, so it gives slightly slower arm speeds a bit more distance. You can't really go wrong with the Reach.

    The People's Destroyer!

Tried these when they first came out. Feels great in the hand, holds the line I throw it on, and "reaches" the attended target (close to the basket, of course)! Color Glow is the more stable plastic, Premium is neutral, and I would bet the MF-Infinity plastic would be the least stable! Biride excetuted the vision of a People's Destroyer!

Like the previous reviewer, I just received this as a mystery disc and otherwise had no clue the disc existed.  Played today on a pretty wide open course at 3300 ft. with a great deal of non-stop wind with gusts up to 35+ mph.  I had played all summer on a mountain course at 7500 ft. where I never used a Destroyer and rarely needed anything more stable than a Champion Tern and the occasional reliable Champion Firebird.  As I only started playing disc golf again this year after a 20+ year break (during which I was competing well in tournaments), I simply don't have a lot of experience throwing my Destroyer, so I won't try a direct comparison.  What I can tell you is that I threw the Reach directly into this sustained headwind multiple times on BH and easily threw laser beams 6ft. off the ground 325+ ft., starting with only a minimal hyzer that turned up to flat and just sailed.  The one throw that started out of my hand flat into this headwind also turned slowly for a good duration of the flight but never burned and had a forward vs a dumping fade at the end.  There were some nasty landing zones that took a bit of toll on the plastic, and it reacts pretty much identical to Star plastic but with maybe a tad better durability.

It's hard for me to imagine this disc being beginner friendly for long straight or s-curve flights, but it might at least be workable for someone advancing beyond beginner level, especially closer to sea level.  It certainly served me extremely well and reliably in sustained and gusting winds today.  For beginners just venturing into higher speed drivers, don't overlook the exceptional 11-speed Infinite Maya, a disc I threw quite often at 7500 ft.

Got this disc in a mystery box from Infinite and was definetly the hidden gem of the box.

At first glance it seems like a Destroyer clone, but I find it more like the perfect seasoned Destroyer out of the box, very workable and easy distance when you put it on the right angle to get the full flight, as well as being able to really glide while fading back.

The Birdie plastic is slightly gummy and I find that I always have a good grip on it and will hold that consestant flight for a long time.

Great disc from a small company will definetly be keeping an eye on what they make in the future!
