The Balance by Axiom is a moderately overstable midrange in the Simon Line of discs. It is a standard, comfortable midrange that can handle the power of experience players without being too overstable and cumbersome for newer players.

This thing is an absolute beefcake!! Looking at all the pics now, I see that most of these have some dome, but some are somewhat flat, and a few are very flat. Mine has a very flat top, and is just about the most overstable midrange I've ever thrown. Thrown flat at 72mph (TechDisc) into a headwind (guessing about 10mph), it held straight for about 260' before dumping hard left (RHBH), still with a lot of lateral energy, ending about 320'. It's noticeably more overstable than the Prism Pyros that I love.  It almost makes a Buzz OS look like a beginner mid. I'd say it's similar to a Justice, or like a faster Zone OS. I'm not sure it will have a spot in my bag, but I haven't ruled it out yet.

This disc has far exceeded my expectation. I wanted a mid with a shallower feel and some torque resistance for forehands at my heavily wooded home course. This is exactly what I needed.

When thrown flat it holds straight for quite a while, longer than I would expect for a disc with such reliable fade. Give it a touch of anhyzer out of the hand and it'll hold that turnover yet still hook up at the end of flight. I can power it up and power it down and it still flies beautifully. The hand feel is fantastic. For a midrange I find the forehand grip to be exceptionally comfortable, more so than other mids I have tried for this purpose.

While this is definitely an overstable mid, it doesn't replace your typical beefy MD5 or Zone OS super dumpy slot. Think of it as more of a Hex / MD3 with extra stability.

It's finally here! The stock run Balance is here and it is a glorious midrange. It feels great in the hand, they toned down on the beefiness and made a mid that could be a useful tool in anyone's bag! I would say the stock run fits perfectly in between the Pyro and the Reactor (which is exactly what Simon wanted). This disc will fly flat for a good bit when thrown hard on a flat release, but it seems to resist turnover no matter what. Even when there is quite a decent wind. It will however, always get that reliable fade towards the end of its' flight, with an overall pretty mild skip, if any. But where this disc shines is if you need a very controlled hyzer shot in the woods that keeps the same hyzer angle all the way throughout and effortlessly gets a big swing around whatever obstacles are in your way.

Definitely my favorite overstable midrange. It doesnt' feel as beefy as a Detour, but definitely has major beef. It's perfect for headwinds or throwing dead straight flexlines with a lot of anhyzer.

I have the v1 prototype and have bought 3 extra to fill my OS midrange slot.

(This review is for the v1 prototype)

While this 1st version of the disc is more stable than Simon wished for, it's still an amazing disc and I've ended up having three of them because I enjoy it so much! It's relatively similar to a pyro, but for my hands, it's a little bit more comfortable and ever so slightly more stable. This disc has now taken both the overstable mid and zone slots in my bag. I'd also like to add that I'm very excited for the less overstable stock release of this disc, as it's sure to make a truly lethal one-two combo of mids to shred any course.

It's remarkably straight for the first 85% of the flight, before reliably fading out. I typically use a Reactor and Deflector to bracket the overstable mid shots in my game, and this goes significantly further than the Deflector while maintaining excellent overstability. On a flat forehand, it goes further than any other mid in my bag, a couple times even going past 300 feet. If this prototype is dramatically different from the final version, I need to find a few backups!

I received a disc that might be slightly different from the norm in the sense that I don't experience it being more overstable than my Pyro, which I've often heard others say. Has a very slight flip up at about 5 speed and carries a solid way before a reliable fade. When thrown at a slightly lower speed it does seem more like a 0/3 disc, though doesn't push as far as a Zone or Mint in my experience.
