The Tangent is an understable midrange disc by Maple Valley Plastics. MVP disc sports is known for its high quality putters and midrange discs while utilizing the overmold and “gyroscope” technology. This understable disc is ideal for beginners and less powerful disc golfers, but will also hold a place for more powerful throwers who need a nice straight flight. MVP claims that it has a smooth profile that will fit in your hand like a glove. The Tangent complements MVP’s Vector & Axis nicely to give MVP a full suite of midranges, with the Tangent being the most understable of the bunch.

If you're looking for the Best Beginner-Friendly MVP Midrange Discs, this list is based directly on player feedback from reviews left on InfiniteDiscs.com. Each time a disc is reviewed, players are asked to rate how beginner-friendly it is—so the rankings here reflect real-world experience from disc golfers who know what it's like to start out.

The Detour, Uplink, and Tangent lean understable, making them excellent for new players still developing power or struggling with early fades. More neutral and workable mids like the Reactor and Axis provide reliable control for all angles. For beginners who want to experiment with wind-resistant or harder-fading mids, the Matrix, Vector, and Deflector offer a more overstable feel while still remaining manageable. Every disc here is designed to help you build consistency from the fairway.
