BEST BAG EVER!!!!!!!!
Sooooo... this was my first real disc golf bag. I used to use a regular backpack until i saw this bag at Play it Again for only $30 which is a great price for most, definitely for me. This is a great first time bag for kids, beginners, and/or guys like me who prefer to be quicker on the feet, and anyone who is looking for a durable, lightweight, conservative disc golf bag. I can fit everything i need in this bag, 3 putters in the top and at least 18 in the main compartment (depending on the molds you want to fit) and it has a massive drink holder on the side. You can easily fit the big Gatorade bottles in it, which is what i always go for, even the smaller pocket on the side is nice. I can fit 3 small towels, a sharpie, and my birdie bag in there which is all I need. Overall I think this is the best bag in the $30 range that's out there (that's just me though.) I do have a few cons, as follows: It doesn't like to stand up on it's own, which is annoying but more than manageable. Also I feel like they could've put more pockets on it honestly, there is definitely room for it,18-20 discs is more than enough shot shapes at your disposal for pretty much any course that I have played but I'm sure the advanced/pro folks would need more and there are places for them. Lastly, a small strap or pocket for minis would be awesome but that is it really. Great bag for a great price, its all you really need out there honestly unless you want more comfort and utility,or if you need 20+ discs in your bag. I know some people like to have duplicates. Although those big bulky bags are nice but its not a necessity, and its the best choice for kids in my opinion cause its so lightweight. 5/5 from me!!!!!!!!!
TL;DR: Spend the extra $12 on the next level up, and avoid the BP series of Prodigy bags altogether.
1) I say avoid this line of Prodigy because the divider/stabilizer is trash, adn is used in at least the next Prodigy BP-* model up as well. This bag will fall over on it's own every time, even when loaded up with discs and bottom-heavy. Also, the stabilizer absorbs water, so if you have a spill you'll have a limp rag trying to support your bag. Truly awful design.
2) The straps are ripping off already, and I've only owned it a month or so.
3) The side pocket is borderline useless, and I don't trust the velcro tab to keep it closed when the next tier up, which is still pretty cheap, has bigger side pockets with actual zippers.
This bag is comfortable to carry. I was able to comfortably put 13 discs in the main compartment and 2 in the top putter pocket. A light jacket or other valuables will fit in the top putter pocket if you would rather use it for that. The drink holder fits anything I carry, 32 oz nalgene, water bottle, gatorade bottle. For smaller bottles like the watter bottle you can make the opening smaller with a tether.
I love the look of this bag as well. I got the navy on black. The fabric feels really durable.
A nice touch is the added disc insert that allows you to divide up you bag.
My only worry if you could call it that is the strap that you use to pick the bag up from the top could be reinforced. I have not had any issues with it and for this price point I really cannot complain too loudly.
I did some easy DIY to make the bag itself more rigid. I used corrugated cardboard on the bottom and the sides. I used regular cardboard to make a template first. This took maybe 15 minutes and ensures the bag stays upright. So, I would recommend doing this, but it is not necessary to enjoy this bag if you don't!
You cannot beat this bag for this price. Great design, looks awesome.
