It sufficed when I started out and got it in a starter set from Dynamic Discs. But it didn't take long for me to want to and actually swap it out. The material is fine but the problems really stand from the fact it really just feels more like a straight up backpack than something specifically for disc golf. The bag slags when I put it down making getting discs out of it a pain. Plus when I put it on with both straps, the back scrunches up and doesn't feel very good.
If you're just starting out you can do a lot worse, but you can do a heck of a lot better too.
Very great bag. I ordered this and can fit about 24 discs within the compartment, and 4 extra on the side pockets. The bag looks great, the straps fit well, so it doesn't hurt my lower back. The zip up pockets are huge, can fit my phone, pencils, and whatever I need to. Pockets are easily accessible.
love this bag. i currently have 22 in mine, 20 side by side (i'm partial to flat discs) in the main compartment plus 1 putter that sits perpendicular and an additional putter in one of the mesh pockets. can hold any size water bottle. i even keep a baseball in the bottom zipper pocket for when my friends : ) get a disc stuck in a tree. the top zipper pocket is perfect for keys, phone, etc. lightweight, yet durable.
The DD Cadet bag is definitely a good bag for the $20 price tag, but I wish I had spent a little more money to get something with a harder bottom. I am a beginner and I currently only have 14 discs. Unfortunately, this bag would require a few more discs in order to reliably stand up straight on it's own without being slightly off balance. Not a huge problem (hence the 4 stars), but it does cause issues with larger water bottles being stored on the side. Which brings me to my second point, the side mesh does not hold larger water bottles well. A bag with draw string holders on the side would be much better if you have a water bottle that is 32 oz. or greater. The weight of my bottles seem to always either topple the bag, or the water bottle ends up on it's side or falling out of the bag when placed on a bench. Besides all that, this bag is pretty good quality and very comfortable. The shoulder straps are soft, and I am able to wear it pretty much the entire day without thinking twice about it, or being uncomfortable.
This is essentially the competition bag for the Innova discover bag and this bag is WAYYYY better. The straps are more durable and there is more space. The Cadet is better in every way. SAME PRICE BUT BETTER PRODUCT
