Hello, I bought the paratrooper as my first "Real" bag.  I love the storage pockets.  I truly enjoy the braces on the bottom that allow it to sit off the ground.  There are a few reasons why I can't give the Paratrooper a 5 star review.  The pocket on the front where the picture shows it holding a disc in the flap, on my bag I cant fit any disc in that slot.  So I do not even use it, just fold it up into the bag out of the way for easy access tot he discs.  However, there are times when the discs do not come out easily, even when not filled to capacity.  I usually only carry 10-15 discs while playing.  Even with this standard amount of discs they still manage to get jumbled up, stuck, and twisted together.  I like the bag, but don't think I would purchase another.  Good for a first bag when you pass the very beginner stage.  But I have to believe there is a bag out there that keeps the discs upright a tad better than the paratrooper.

I researched backpacks for weeks before I finally decided on the Paratrooper.

Many months before I pulled the trigger on the Paratrooper I had purchased a cheaper backpack for $29.99 from an outdoor sports department store in Texas that looked somewhat similar but was vastly different than a quality bag. If you're thinking about saving money on a less expensive DG backpack please read below!

My previous cheap bag slouched terribly. Multiple times I had putters/approach discs fall out the top sleeves when I sat it down (one actually rolled into a creek). After about 20 rounds I noticed the stitching began to come undone and the fabric was tearing. After 3 months of restitching and supergluing seams I decided it was finally time for an upgrade. In enters the Paratrooper!

Here is why you should choose the Paratrooper.

    1. Internal frame support. This is a huge difference! Everything stays where it should and it sits nicely on the ground while you're throwing.

    2. Fabric: This material is SOLID! After about 40 rounds there are no signs of wear and tear whatsoever! All stitching and stress points are just as good as the day I got it.

    3. Bottom rails. This is often an overlooked feature, but it's very important. Without rails you're sitting your bag on wet ground and if you don't air it out it will begin to have a smell that is reminiscent of cat urine. Ewww.

    4. Capacity: This is where the chili meets the cheese when you're looking to get a "bigger bag."  This is what I have in my bag and do not have any issues during a round. I also use the side pockets for three additional discs. I also have a golden retriever tool, rangefinder, 32oz. Nalgene bottle, towel, and my wallet and keys, plus a small bottle of grip enhancer and my mini.

    - 10 Distance Drivers

    - 9 Fairway/Control Drivers

    - 4 Mids

    - 2 Approach

    - 3 Putters

    Total = 28 discs

    Hope this helps your decision!

I got this bag for Christmas after several months of using a starter bag and wow! I love the size of it as I have become a disc golf addict and have been quickly accumulating more and more discs. I also love the pockets. The side pockets are roomy while also having smaller pockets within the side pockets to safely store important things like wallets and keys. I also love the putter pouch and the other pouch and the single disc pouch, so many pouches and pockets!

It has a really good structure that keeps it upright in almost every situation as well as being comfortable to carry. An all around great investment!

I received this as a Christmas gift from my wife to replace a cheaper sling backpack I had been using. I've been using for a few months now and I couldn't be happier. Initially the weight seemed like it might be an issue but it carries so well that I haven't had any issues carrying it all day even with two 40oz water bottles in the pockets. I keep 3 putters in the main top pocket with 2 more discs in the smaller zippered pocket above that. The main portion is very accessible and can hold an impressive number of discs (I recommend leaving some space to make it easier to get things in and out). The side pouches are roomy and can hold snacks or equipment, I personally keep an Infinite Discs retriever in the side pouch (it's too tall for the pocket but stays inside around the height of the bag).

It's still early but I'm extremely please with the build quality (assembly can be a little tricky). For the price you can't beat this bag.

This bag holds a lot of discs! All within the designated disc compartments, and you'll still have room for other things as well.

Overall this bag is a pretty comfortable bag, it feels large while wearing it though. I almost feel like I've got wings too, as the water bottle pouches stick out funnily. I like how rigid the bag is, putting the flaps into the bag is a little bit of a pain though. I am glad that it was difficult to get them in there, as they fit snuggly and well. Making the bag really nice and rigid. It would seem that the rigidity of the bag will last a while as well.

A few things that I found to be a little disappointing; it doesn't have a towel D ring like most bags do. The water bottle pouches could have been better either by being insulated or a little smaller. The pouch dwarfs my 32oz bottle. They're huge! Also, I'm not a fan of how big the bag feels when I put it on me.

Overall, this is a pretty good bag though. Definitley a good bag for the purchase price.

Great backpack...it's pretty tall, sits flat on the ground, swallows all your discs, and the top putter pocket will easily hold 2. Plenty of space in the front and side pockets, with zippers and inside compartments for all kinds of extra gear you might carry.

A word of warning...watch the video on how to assemble this before you start cramming in the stiff panels that come with it. My first pack- the zippers popped open/broke, but DD quickly sent out a replacement. Interestingly enough, the flat panels from my first bag wouldn't fit in the box for the second, which leads me to believe they were just too big to fit in the backpack in the first place.
