The Doomsday Discs Lockdown is here. No other distance driver understands the restrictive nature of mandos better than the Lockdown. Its straight flight followed by a steady, reasonable fade will help keep you on the fairway, whether you are supposed to be playing outside or not. This disc has a comfortable, shallow rim perfect for forehand or backhand.

    Ration Details

Ration plastic from Doomsday Discs is a base-line blend in their Prepper Line of discs. It is similar to other affordable base plastics on the market, like DX or Retro. It is a great choice for putters or for players who want their mids and drivers in a softer blend for different flight characteristics than premium blends.

My Flight Ratings: 10/5/-0.5/2 Neutral Throwing Distance: N/A Straight Score: N/A

In fields tests, I compared the Lockdown to eight other 10 Speed discs, with mostly -1/2 Turn/Fade ratings, and some -2/2 and 0/2 ratings. I think the flight numbers are pretty accurate, though I'd give it a bit less Turn than the -1 it's listed at: It didn't exhibit as much turn as other -1 discs, enabling it to fade back more reliably even into a headwind; and with a tailwind its stability won out over the Turn more quickly than others. I think the speed and stability of the disc are still a bit much for a beginning backhand player, though it might work OK for those favoring forehands. The rim shape and profile of the Lockdown feels pretty good in the hand. I was pleased with how it flew for me: a straight flight pattern w reliable fade, and plenty of distance -- netting me more forward distance than a majority the others. I got this on a good sale in the base Ration plastic. While the red stamp on the jet-black plastic looks pretty cool, my one knock against this disc is the Ration plastic: It isn't as durable as their more premium grades, and for a distance driver, that could shorten the useful life of the disc. I have several Legacy discs in Icon or Pinnacle plastic. I think a Lockdown in one of these other grades would be a better bet.

This disc is great, but not for stability in the ration plastic. That being said it is now my go to roller disc though!! Throws smash rollers!!
