    Disc Golf Reviews

History as a Disc Golf Review Website

Infinite Discs started out as a disc golf review blog. As a relatively new disc golfer I was overwhelmed by all of the different disc options. And that was back in 2011 when there was a fraction of the disc options that there are today...

I was in search of discs that would offer the greatest distance, accuracy, and consistency for my play. Back then, there were no reliable websites providing disc golf disc reviews. Hence, my colleague Kirk and I decided to create one and InfiniteDiscs.com was born.

Right from the start, we aimed to collect a substantial number of quality disc reviews. We encouraged visitors to our website to share their experiences and ratings of the various disc golf discs they used. Over the past ten years, this approach has transformed InfiniteDiscs.com into the largest repository of disc golf reviews available.

By honestly writing and reviewing discs (and other products and accessories) you earn Infinite Points which can be redeemed for Infinite Discs gift cards.

    Different Disc Golf Review Criteria

Our website features a range of review categories designed to tailor disc reviews to players at any stage of their disc golf journey.

    Throwing Distance

In disc golf reviews, knowing the throwing distance is crucial as it serves as a gauge of arm speed. The velocity at which a disc is released from your hand will significantly influence its flight pattern. Since discs behave differently at varying speeds, understanding the reviewer's throwing distance helps you comprehend the rationale behind their review and why a disc might perform a certain way given their release speed.

    Skill Level

Similar to Throwing Distance, skill level enables easier comparison among players with analogous abilities. Seasoned players who have honed their game to achieve a high degree of consistency will benefit from reviews by other advanced players with comparable refinement. Conversely, beginners, with their own unique form imperfections and inconsistencies, may find that a different selection of discs aligns better with their current phase in the disc golf progression.

    Recommended for Beginners

The recommended for beginners section of disc reviews allows you to give your personal recommendation of if a beginner should try that disc. There are five different options for this criteria. Very Beginner Friendly - Use this option if you feel that this is one of the best discs that a beginner can use.

Somewhat Beginner Friendly - This disc is adequate for a beginner, though there are superior options available.

Neutral - This disc is neither particularly advantageous nor disadvantageous for a beginner.

Not Beginner Friendly - You would advise a beginner against choosing this disc.

Terrible for Beginners - This disc is so unsuitable for beginners that if you saw one attempting to use it, you would feel compelled to remove it from their possession as a gesture of goodwill.

    Disc Review Star Rating

The star rating provides a quick reference for a disc's overall rating. The star ratings allow us to create our highly rated discs pages so that you can see the best discs from a variety of different categories. Discs should be rated using the following scale:

5 Stars - An outstanding disc that earns a spot in your bag, one you frequently use and would replace with the same model if lost.

4 Stars - An exceptional disc, one that, even if not in your current selection, you trust enough to use in a tournament and perform well with.

3 Stars - An average disc that performs adequately for most disc golfers in typical situations, but given the option, you would likely opt for an exceptional or outstanding disc.

2 Stars - A subpar disc, one that you might only use for water shots or when there's a high chance of losing it. This disc just didn't do it for you and doesn't serve for a practical purpose for you.

1 Star - A poor-quality disc that should not have been widely produced. A one-star rating may be due to an uncomfortable feel in the hand or poor and inconsistent flight patterns.

Remember, when looking for the best discs for yourself, consider the ratings from players of a similar skill level. A high star rating does not necessarily mean the disc will suit your game.

    Average Distance the Disc Goes

Understanding your personal throwing range is one aspect, but the actual distance a disc travels can differ greatly among players due to various throwing styles, release angles, and skill levels. By noting the average distance achieved with each specific disc, you can gain insights into the performance of that particular model and plastic type. Combining this with other filters, you'll be better equipped to identify the disc that will fly the farthest for you.

    Disc Review Straight Score

This metric evaluates a disc's capability to maintain a straight trajectory. On densely wooded disc golf courses, it's crucial to have discs that can fly straight consistently. Our straight score facilitates the comparison of reviews from players across different skill levels to discover the discs that are best suited for straight flight.

    Reviewing Disc Flight Ratings

The final feature of the Infinite Discs review system is the assessment of the disc’s flight ratings. This aspect is crucial because, as experienced disc golfers know, the flight ratings provided by manufacturers can sometimes be inaccurate. Even discs from the same mold can fly differently across various production runs and plastic types. Manufacturers tend to assign uniform flight ratings to all variations of a disc model, which may not always reflect reality. At InfiniteDiscs.com, we place a high value on flight ratings because we rely on user feedback, like yours, to determine the true flight characteristics of a disc. This approach offers future customers a more accurate understanding of a disc’s actual flight behavior, as opposed to relying solely on the manufacturer’s printed ratings. Each plastic variation that has been reviewed has different flight numbers. Our flight ratings reviews feature helps Infinite Discs product details to be the most accurate.

    Importance of Your InfiniteDiscs.com profile

To enhance the utility of these reviews, it's vital that you complete your Infinite profile, which should include details like your throwing distance and skill level. This feature enables readers to filter reviews to see only those from reviewers with similar abilities. The fact is, a highly overstable disc might be excellent for a professional but could prove unsuitable for a beginner.

Similarly, understable discs, typically recommended for beginners, may receive lower ratings on our site since the majority of reviewers are experienced players. If a disc is too understable or 'flippy' for them, it tends to receive a lower score. The issue is not with the disc's quality, but rather that it's not fit for their level of arm speed.

By reading reviews from players who match your own throwing distance and skill level, you can gain a clearer insight into which discs might be the most effective for you.

How Long Does it Take for My Disc Reviews to be Published?

We meticulously examine each review we receive to guarantee its quality and authenticity, filtering out spam. Reviews are typically approved within 24 hours on business days. However, reviews submitted over the weekend may take a bit longer, as our customer service team prioritizes urgent matters first. If more than three days have passed and your review has not been posted, please feel free to contact our customer service support staff.
