    Light Weight Discs

Japan used to have rules that disc golf discs had to be light weight. So, for the Japan Open disc golf tournament, even professional players like Paul McBeth and Avery Jenkins threw very light weight discs. These discs became known as "150 Class" because their low weights qualified them for Japan Open play. All of the discs included on this page are light weight weighing no more than 159 grams. Even if you're not planning to play in Japan, light discs are excellent for beginners, women, old guys, low arm speed players, tailwinds, playing at high elevation, or if you're just wanting to get more distance or throw a disc mold that otherwise would be too overstable for you.

For even lighter weight discs, check out our selection of very light weight or "kids discs" that weigh 130 grams or less.
