I love this disc. It flies kind of like my new C-Line MD3's. Comfortable in my hand and will go straight in a head wind.

I'd have to say the Shark3 is probably the most under appreciated mids in the innova line up. It goes straight if thrown hard, power down you'll get a straight shot with a reliable fade. Feels more comfortable in my hand than a Roc3. It has quickly found a place in my bag and has given the roc3 the boot. Highly recommend this mid!

    Disc - 177 Champion Shark3

Feel - The Shark3 feels just like the original shark except with a flat top. It has no bead and is a good depth.

Flight - The Shark3 flies like a roc3 without the bead in my opinion. It flies a very similar line but just may be more comfortable in the hand for some people. It flies straight with a bit of an overstable finish. I really enjoy the Shark3 but I throw the roc3 in the same slot so I do not have a need for it.

Overall - Great substitute to the roc and roc3 and lets players get their hands on a beadless midrange that flies similarly

Got this as my mystery disc and am very pleased with its performance. This disc is very easy to control and understand. The Shark 3 is a lot better than my dx shark and its one of my most used midranges.

I received a Shark3 in a player's pack and quickly put it to work.  At the time, I had a DX Shark in my bag so I wanted to compare the two.  I quickly found out that the Shark3 is a dramatic improvement over the Shark.  I really like this disc and think it is very underrated in the Innova line up.  The flight is very stable with a minor fade at the end.  It fit nicely between the Roc3 and Mako3 while it was in my bag.  Unfortunately, I let my son throw it a couple of times and he hasn't given it back.  Looks like I am going to be buying another Shark3.

For all my car guys out there, you know when car makers were putting out cars pre-recession and they were garbage? They ran, but they just weren't put together well. Then, when everyone realized you can't leave your customers out of the rain, they came back with actually good products? The Shark3 is that. Where the normal Shark in DX plastic is caught in this weird middle-ground of not being able to turn over and not flying as far, the Shark3 is the real deal. It's a legitimately well rounded midrange that needs to be thrown with a bit of finesse to turn over, especially in the Champion plastic, but well worth the cash. There's nothing wrong with the Shark, this is just better.

PROS: Under appreciated midrange. Suitable for a change away from the Roc.

CONS: Feels and looks, I don't know. Just really darn big.

If you are looking to keep the number of discs you carry to a minimum, using a Shark3 as your midrange is a good choice.  I would not call it a turnover disc or a meat hook disc; just a steady disc that if you throw it different ways you can probably get it to do a little bit of everything.  It is vanilla, but sometimes vanilla is just what you need.  People say it is a Roc3 without the bead.  That is a fair comparison, but I have found that the Roc3 has a little more fade than the Shark3.

A guy I throw with that's been playing for a while was struggling with his drives with distance drivers. I had him play a round with only using this for his drives and most of the shots had the same distance but he was out driving some of the spots his beast and wraith would land. He has switched back to his drivers and has seen an improvement by working with this disc on his drives. This thing effortlessly goes straight 250 and sits for me. when I really get behind it, it does turn but straightens out nicely. I highly recommend this disc.

This disc is not what I was expecting... but I love what I learned it to be! I threw Buzzz's for a while but never loved how they felt in my hand. I reluctantly continued to throw them because their flight was undeniable. With a mid range lineup of buzzz's and a beat up DX shark for understable shots, I looked for something a little more stable (not crazy OS but more so than a buzzz), and settled on the Shark3 because I knew I LOVED how my shark fit in my hand. When I got my shark3 and began to throw it I realized it is not at all OS like I thought it may be/heard it was, but insteaed it flew EXACTLY like my buzz. Throw it flat it goes dead straight with maybe a once of turn and then a ounce of left finish, but nearly dead straight. Throw it on hyzer it will try to flip up but more or less hold the angle the whole way. Throw it on anny it will hold it to the ground. So, while it didn't fill the hole I thought it would it did something better... it is a Buzzz that is shaped like a shark, which is the best of both worlds for me. So, I'll rate it 5,5,-1,1, like a Buzzz  with a touch more glide, and give it a emphatic 5 stars.

The Shark 3 is my favorite midrange! For an advanced arm, they fly very straight with a dependable fade. Once they are nicely beat-in, they will hold any line and are incredibly accurate! Give the Shark 3 a try!

The Shark3 was my next step up from the starter pack DX shark.  Even for a while after stepping up to the Roc3 I would bag the Shark3.  Its essential a Roc3 without the bead on the bottom and its straighter.  In the hand the Shark3 feels very comfortable.  Similar to an MD3 feel.  The one I had was 176G and it was a nice flat top in the gummier champion plastic.  The only reason this disc isn't in my bag anymore is because I wanted to slim down my molds and only carry 2 molds in various stages of wear and I found myself reaching for my beat in Roc3 instead of the Shark3.  If the Roc3 just isn't doing it for you because of the bead or if its too stable take a look at the Shark3.

The Beadless Roc3. Perhaps slightly straighter.

My Shark3 will hold any line I put it on. If I release it flat, it will fly flat, even if thrown as short as 40-50m. It will still stay straight if i give it 100m of power. It will hold hyzers... it will hold anhyzers.

The only, and therefore the biggest problem I have with my Shark3, is that it's red. And I'm just colorblind enough to be able to step on it without actually noticing it on the course.

    Great disc overall.

Shark throwers, there is finally a premium version of a shark that you can count on to fight the wind. If you have never thrown a Shark, you should really give the Shark3 a chance. This is a straight flying disc with some nice stability at the end of the flight. This makes for a great do everything type midrange for new and experienced players alike.

The Shark3 is a perfect overstable midrange for anyone looking for a beadless alternative to the Roc3. All of the Shark3s I have bagged over the years start off very overstable. More overstable than the Roc3 out of the box, but since the Shark3 is beadless it works in much faster than a beaded mid. I can comfortably power grip or fan grip the Shark3 depending on how hard I want to throw the disc. As the disc gets more and more beat in it holds its stability, but becomes an extremely straight flyer with great glide and a reliable fade at the end of its flight. I use the Shark3 for stable mid shots around 275-300 feet. I think anyone could find a use for a Shark3 whether they're beginners looking for an overstable beadless midrange, or a experienced player looking for that straight flying beadless mid.

It took me several months to finally start appreciating this disc. I think the rim is more comfortable than a Roc3, and has a little less fade. For a beginner, this means more accurate approaches. For intermediate and advanced throwers, this means owning a mid range with about the same flight as a teebird. This has become one of the most reliable discs in my bag because of its forgiving speed and glide, precise turn, and gentle fade. You should consider this disc over a Roc or Mako.

The Shark3 is basically a Roc3 with no need but the lack of a bead makes the Shark3 easier to Fh as well as easier to control.  The Shark3 is possibly the best Innova mid ever.  It is the perfect mid to fit in between my Buzzz and my Roc3.

The Shark3 gets no love, but it's not a bad disc at all.  It basically is a Roc3 underside but without the bead of the Roc3.  My 172g Shark3 is in very bright JL Champion plastic and looks good.  The flight is very similar to the Roc3 in that it goes fairly straight before fading.  I threw it on a round in windy conditions, and the Shark3 fights the wind well.

So if you prefer beadless discs, the Shark3 might be an excellent substitute for the Roc3 in your bag.  It deserves a lot more respect than it gets, so give it a try.

The champion shark3 took me by surprise.  This disc is much more stable than any other shark I have ever thrown.  At 177g, this thing can fly.  Great all around disc to have in the bag.  However, there are other molds that I prefer over the mold of the shark3 that preform similarly.  Therefore, it is not currently in my bag.  This may just be personal preference so do not let it turn you away from trying this disc.
