The Innova Nova, a straight-flying Aviar type putter, that utilizes two different plastic blends to provide a unique flight and feel. The outer rim consists of a very soft grippy plastic that grabs the chains. The inner flight plate is firm, but tacky. This tall, two-piece putt and approach disc is described as having the high-speed stability of the Big-Bead Aviar with minimal low-speed fade. It’s the perfect finesse disc that can handle the power of “modern players”, while providing precision accuracy. The unique thing about the Innova Nova compared with other over-mold discs is that it has slits approximately one inch apart throughout the rim.

This disc. Oh man this disc. It is so cool! Example: I have a hole at my local course. 250 foot low ceiling tunnel shot with a guardian tree posted up front left. Since I've acquired a nova, I birdie this hole every. time. (pretty much) Disc flies far for a putter, and flippin straight. If you put it on an angle, it holds that angle unless thrown really slow. This disc is also has the best jump putt dynamics of anything I've thrown. It holds elevation as well as line impeccably. I don't care for it as a standard putter. I push putt and I don't think I get enough speed on it. A spin putter might really enjoy it though. One other note on this disc is it breaks in super fast. Once it does I feel it loses consistency. I think it's cause the middle pro plastic is really hard and I think it warps easily. Unlike other discs I've thrown, this is one of the only ones I've found that flies it's best new. Although I have gotten some cool low speed hyzer flips with the old one. I definitely recommend this disc. I took 2 strokes off my game. I hit a big jump putt with this disc pretty much every round and jump putting, I used to consider a weakness in my game. TL;DR? Buy it. But be ready to replace it a lot.

I just barely picked up the new Innova Nova last week and so far I'm liking the disc quite a bit. Personally I really like the way the disc feels in hand. The base plastic is nice and firm, while the edge is nice and tacky. However I did notice some excess plastic from the overmold as well. All in all I think it's a great idea but needs a little more development to fully maximize the potential. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for any new molds they release. As far as flight is concerned it flies unbelievably straight. It actually threw me off on how straight the disc flew, with little to no low speed fade. I've thrown straight putters before but nothing quite like this. Anyways I definitely agree with the previous reviews in stating this disc does not respond as well to a spin style of putt. All in all, I'm satisfied with the Nova but need to get better at push putting to truly take advantage of the disc.

The feel of the plastics in the Nova is awesome. The rim is soft and grippy, and the flight plate is firm, but grippy enough. The soft outer rim really does a great job of grabbing chains, while the disc itself still feels really solid. My problem with the Nova is that it is shaped like the Aviar, and I just don't like the feel Aviar for putting. The gradual slope of the Aviar from the center to the rim just doesn't feel right for my putting grip and it is the same thing with the Nova.

The flight of the Nova is impressive, at putting distances a gentle push will send this disc perfectly straight with virtually no fade. A flat release with this disc will land exactly in line with where you aim, and flight wise is very MVP Anode like. With the double mold plastics, the rim of the Nova actually feels a little thicker than the Aviar, which to me gives it a more comfortable grip for driving. I love the concept of the Nova, just don't like the shape/slope of the disc. I'm really looking forward to Innova's next over mold putter that uses pro plastic blends. If you like the Aviar, you're really going to want to try the Nova.
